Summary of the RoleThe Hospitality Director of Finance directs and supervises the activities of the hospitality accounting team, the month-end closing process, the annual budget process, monthly reforecasts, tax return preparation, and bank/general ledger account reconciliations. The candidate will be directly responsible for all aspects of hospitality accounting operations as detailed below.
Primary Responsibilities - Prepare, review, and distribute monthly / annual financial statements and dashboards
- Plan, direct and coordinate the accounting operations of Hotel Arista and the hospitality outlets at CityGate Centre
- Supervise accounting team
- Oversee Daily Revenue / Income Audit
- Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and analysis including the development and maintenance of reporting dashboards and related budget and forecast models
- Oversee cash handling procedures and financial controls
- Oversee check book accounting and related controls
- Oversee monthly F&B physical inventories
- Monthly Inventory Analysis
- Prepare custom reports and analysis, respond quickly to questions or requests and attend / participate in meetings as a Business Team Member
- Oversee the preparation and issuance of daily revenue and labor reports to hotel managers
- Oversee the preparation of all reconciliations and work papers
- Prepare monthly / quarterly / annual sales and use tax, F&B / Hotel Operators tax and Telecommunications tax returns
- Safeguarding of company assets / ensure strong internal controls are always in place
- Hold managers accountable to maintaining staffing in accordance with staffing guide so that labor is in line with revenue
- Hold Managers accountable to achieving departmental expense budgets
- Complete Departmental P&L / Operating Statement Reviews by the 20th of each month
- Issue daily, weekly, and monthly trend reports and operating statement and dashboards to managers and ownership
- Conduct periodic training in the departmental stand-up / pre-shift meetings
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
- At least 5 years of hotel and accounting experience.
- Solid background in the implementation of integration of financial systems and related policies and procedures (NetSuite, Power BI, Symphony, Opera, Delphi)
- Exceptional technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organization, multi-tasking, prioritizing, and teamwork skills
- Strong communications skills, both oral and written
- Ability to motivate, direct and develop staff members
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Access and Excel
Compensation DisclosureThe compensation for this role takes into account various factors, including work location, individual skill set, relevant experience, and other business needs. The estimated base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
