Director of Finance & Administration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree (MBA, MPA, or related) or CPA preferred.
• 5-10 years of financial management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the non-profit sector.
• Proven track record managing multi-million-dollar budgets and overseeing grant-funded projects.
• Experience collaborating with Boards of Directors and senior leadership teams to provide financial insights and strategic guidance.
• In-depth understanding of non-profit financial management, including GAAP standards and regulatory compliance for 501(c)(3) entities.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills to evaluate complex financial data and manage agreements with funders.
• Technical proficiency with non-profit financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks, Blackbaud Financial Edge, Sage Intacct).
• Advanced Excel skills for complex financial analysis and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the financial management strategy for RisingHelth, ensuring the preparation of accurate financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and compliance with financial regulations and agreements.
• Collaborate with organizational leadership to create comprehensive budget forecasts, incorporating current and anticipated grant funding.
• Analyze historical financial data and organizational trends to make informed projections and ensure fiscal sustainability.
• Advise on the reallocation of resources to optimize the use of restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring long-term financial health.
• Align non-profit program goals with sustainable financial practices.
• Conduct regular financial health assessments, identifying risks, opportunities, and strategies to enhance grant utilization and revenue generation.
• Advise on strategic financial planning, assisting in the development of multi-year funding plans that account for fluctuating grant cycles and program needs.
• Manage recurring financial needs such as grants and contract management, running payroll, processing payments for contractors, and accounts payable.
• Oversee and manage the allocation of grant funds, ensuring expenditures align with the specific guidelines and restrictions of each funding source.
• Provide detailed expenditure reports to stakeholders, demonstrating proper use of grant funds and addressing any discrepancies or misallocations.
• Implement best practices and internal controls to ensure sound financial management and risk oversight across RisingHelth, while establishing and controlling budgets across all departments.
• Provide and oversee accounting, auditing, and tax filing activities, assisting with strategic financial decisions as they arise.
• Assist with administrative responsibilities, leading and supporting the team with office management tasks as needed.
