The Director of the Executive Office will work at the center of Girl Scouts of Central Texas, partnering closely with the CEO and a collaborative Executive Team to turn strategy into action. This role will strengthen executive team effectiveness, lead cross-functional work, support an engaged Board of Directors, and help advance important relationships with donors, volunteers, and community leaders.

Job Purpose: The Director of the Executive Office leads the operations of the Executive Office and serves as a strategic partner to the CEO. Through disciplined project management, executive support, governance oversight, and cross-functional leadership, the role ensures the successful implementation of the Council's strategic priorities and maximizes the effectiveness of the CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Directors.
Essential FunctionsExecutive Team Effectiveness- Collaborate with the Executive Team to help manage and/or monitor selected cross-functional projects, aligning stakeholders, managing implementation, mitigating risks, and ensuring achievement of intended outcomes.
- Coordinate Executive Team meetings, retreats, annual planning, and goal-setting processes, ensuring alignment and follow-through on key decisions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO by conducting research, preparing analyses, and supporting executive decision-making.
- Represent the CEO in designated meetings, projects, and stakeholder engagements as assigned.
Governance Leadership- Lead planning and coordination for Board and committee meetings, including agendas, materials, communications, minutes, decisions, and follow-up.
- Maintain the board portal, governance records, and related systems to support compliance, accessibility, institutional continuity, and effective board service.
- Manage board and delegate processes, including appointments, onboarding, training, communications, elections, and compliance with bylaws and policies.
- Advise the CEO and Board Chair on governance practices, board effectiveness, and leadership development.
- Coordinate the council's participation in National Council Session and other governance activities of Girl Scouts of the USA.
- Plan and execute governance and leadership events, including the Annual Meeting.
- Support the CEO's engagement with GSUSA committees, task forces, and national initiatives.
- Coordinate the council's participation in state, regional, and national collaborations within the Girl Scout Movement.
CEO External Engagement and Fundraising Support- Manage systems, tracking, and follow-up processes supporting the CEO's fundraising portfolio, ensuring commitments, stewardship activities, and relationship opportunities are documented and completed.
- Coordinate preparation and follow-up for the CEO's donor visits, community meetings, media opportunities, and other external engagements, including briefings, presentations, speeches, correspondence, talking points, commitments, and next steps.
- Facilitate the board's participation in major fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and leadership giving efforts.
Administrative Coordination- Manage the CEO's calendar, travel, communications, meeting logistics, and administrative functions to maximize effectiveness and organizational impact.
- Manage the finances and administrative operations of the Office of the CEO, including budgeting, forecasting, expense management, and reporting.
- Lead planning and execution for major internal meetings, leadership gatherings, and council-wide events sponsored by the Executive Office.
- Support the CEO's work to further employee engagement, executive team culture, and council-wide communications.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve Executive Office processes, tools, and systems to strengthen decision-making, information flow, project coordination, and organizational effectiveness.
Required Qualifications- Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in strategic planning, organizational operations, governance, project management, or executive leadership support, including experience partnering with senior executives and leading complex, cross-functional initiatives. Ten or more years of related experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading complex strategic initiatives, organizational change efforts, and cross-functional projects from concept through implementation.
- Strong business acumen and ability to identify priorities, solve problems, and drive execution.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, build alignment, and foster trust across stakeholders and teams.
- Experience supporting senior executives, boards of directors, volunteer leaders, or other complex governance structures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize information, evaluate organizational risks and opportunities, and develop recommendations.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism, and sound judgment.
Additional Qualifications- Experience using artificial intelligence tools to perform job-related tasks, improve efficiency, support analysis, strengthen communication, and enhance execution of role-specific responsibilities.
- Experience with business systems including CRM and HRIS platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and mission-driven culture.
- Must be able to utilize council-approved technology to perform essential job functions.
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to drive throughout the council area. In addition, may be required to travel nationwide as required to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Successful completion of background screening and other GSCTX employment requirements.
- Obtain and maintain yearly membership in Girl Scouts of the USA.
Education- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Advanced degree or professional certification in leadership, project management, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred.
Physical Requirements- Ability to operate office equipment and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally move materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
Environmental Demands- Primarily works in an office environment with frequent interaction with staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
- Occasional evening and weekend work required.
