Director of ConstructionAbout the position:As the Director of Construction, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our construction projects from inception to completion. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Reporting directly to the VP of Construction and COO, you will lead a team of construction managers, project managers, and other professionals to achieve project goals and objectives.
What you will do:- Develop and implement strategic plans for construction projects in alignment with company objectives.
- Identify opportunities for growth and improvement in construction processes and procedures.
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of construction projects.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide leadership and direction to the construction team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
- Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Establish and enforce quality standards for construction projects.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Implement corrective actions as necessary to address quality issues.
- Select and manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and pricing.
- Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations on construction sites.
- Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and accidents.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness among team members and subcontractors.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and other project stakeholders.
- Communicate project updates, milestones, and issues effectively and proactively.
Qualifications:- 5+ years of construction management experience
- Telecommunications industry experience is required.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
