The Director of Communications and Marketing is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic communications, marketing, branding, public relations, and community engagement initiatives that promote the health system's mission, services, providers, and reputation. This position leads internal and external communications, oversees marketing campaigns, manages media relations, supports organizational growth initiatives, and ensures consistent messaging across all facilities and service lines.
The Director collaborates closely with executive leadership, physicians, department leaders, and community partners to enhance patient engagement, employee communication, physician recruitment, and market presence while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead branding initiatives to maintain a consistent image across hospitals, physician practices, and affiliated organizations.
- Develop annual marketing plans, budgets, and measurable performance indicators.
- Provide strategic communication support to executive leadership.
- Plan and implement integrated marketing campaigns for clinical services, provider recruitment, employee recruitment, community programs, and organizational initiatives.
- Coordinate print, digital, radio, television, outdoor, and social media advertising.
- Oversee graphic design, promotional materials, photography, and video production.
- Monitor marketing effectiveness using key performance indicators and analytics.
- Direct internal communication efforts including employee newsletters, intranet content, leadership messages, announcements, and organizational updates.
- Develop external communications for patients, community members, media, and stakeholders.
- Write and edit press releases, speeches, presentations, newsletters, website content, and promotional materials.
- Ensure messaging is accurate, timely, and aligned with organizational values.
- Serve as the organization's primary media contact.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local and regional media.
- Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and public announcements.
- Develop crisis communication plans and assist leadership during emergencies
- Oversee website content, search engine optimization (SEO), and digital marketing initiatives.
- Manage organizational social media platforms and online reputation.
- Monitor digital engagement metrics and recommend improvements.
- Education, Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Two years' experience in healthcare marketing, communications, or public relations.
