Position Title: Director of Admissions
Our new 40-bed psychiatric hospital in Toms River, New Jersey, is being developed to deliver a modern, patient-centered approach to inpatient psychiatric care. Located on a comprehensive behavioral health campus, the hospital will provide acute psychiatric stabilization and individualized treatment while connecting patients to a full continuum of behavioral health and addiction recovery services.
The campus will bring together inpatient psychiatric care, medical detoxification, residential treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and outpatient mental health services within one coordinated system of care.
Our approach goes beyond short-term stabilization, focusing on clinical recovery, rehabilitation, and long-term wellness. Through evidence-based treatment, multidisciplinary care teams, and coordinated transitions between levels of care, we aim to reduce fragmentation, improve continuity, and support patients throughout their recovery journey.

Job description:
The Director of Admissions is a vital member of the Detox and Emergency Care component of the System of Care. The Director of Admissions is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of patients as they are admitted to the facility.
Director of Admissions Duties/Responsibilities:
• Admission & Intake Management: Oversee daily inquiry calls, pre-admission clinical assessments, and patient transitions from referral to arrival
• Referral & Business Development: Build and maintain relationships with hospital discharge planners, case managers, physicians, and community partners to generate quality referrals
• Works with Utilization Review Department.
• Interdisciplinary Coordination: Partner with nursing leadership, administrators, and finance teams to monitor bed availability and room readiness
• Monitors and assesses staff morale while developing ongoing plans to build team spirituality and continuity.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all admission agreements, medical records, and reporting metrics satisfy federal, state, and accreditation standards.
Director of Admissions Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Social Services, or a related field
• 2 to 3+ years of experience in healthcare admissions, business development, marketing, or hospital liaison roles.
• Knowledge of addiction and mental health
• Strong grasp of Private Insurance, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, electronic medical record (EMR) systems, insurance verification, and high emotional intelligence for family support.
Director of Admissions Compensation:
