JOB SUMMARY The Director of Accounting is responsible for performing professional-level accounting functions, including auditing, analyzing, reconciling, and preparing financial reports.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:- Plans, manages, and oversees the daily functions, operations, and activities of the accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and general accounting functions.
- Responsible for monthly accounting and annual reporting.
- Prepares closing entries and schedules.
- Responsible for month-end and year-end close
- Work closely with auditors during year-end audit
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Direct reports include Accounts Payable Technician and General Accounting Technician
- Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, managing personnel, planning, assigning, delegating, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field; Master's degree preferred
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in accounting principles or related work experience
- In-depth knowledge of accounting software, corporate principles, and financial analysis
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Strong organizational, regulatory, and record-keeping skills
- Have or develop a detailed understanding of non-profit accounting and reporting
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Easily adaptable to change
