Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Director Nursing Perioperative Services at California Hospital, you will be responsible for Surgical Services including Main OR, Pre-Op, PACU, GI, and SPD. We have 7 operating rooms and a robust surgical services program, supporting many specialties, including trauma, vascular/general, liver/pancreatic, ortho, urology, gastrology, and GYN. We utilize the latest technologies and equipment such as the daVinci robotic system.

Every day, you will direct the operations, work with Sr. Director Periop and Procedural services and Nurse Manager Periop on key initiatives, and work with other front-line leaders to ensure we maintain high standards of patient care in very fast paced environments. You will advise medical staff, other department heads, and administrators in matters related to patient care, clinical best practices, and strategies. You will communicate the organization's goals to the staff as we constantly seek to better serve our community by improving patient experience and delivering exceptional care.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be an experienced leader, with a track record of success overseeing Perioperative or Women's services for an acute-care Hospital. You must be competent and confident, with excellent communication skills one-on-one and in front of groups. We are offering to qualified and experienced external candidates a sign-on bonus not to exceed 10% of salary for this position.

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) or equivalent education and experience and Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g., MSN/MBA/MHA) required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience required.

Required Licensure:
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
