Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Director Nursing Perioperative Services at St. Mary Medical Center you will be responsible for Surgical service departments including OR, PACU, GI, Short Stay (Pre and Post Op Outpatient Surgery), and SPD. Many surgical specialties are supported, including trauma, cardiac, ortho, bariatrics, urological, gastroenterology, as well as general surgery. We have 10 Operating Rooms and utilize the latest technologies and equipment such as the daVinci robotic system. 

You will direct the operations, work with Sr. Leadership on strategy and key initiatives, and work with the Nurse Manager Periop, Nurse Manager GI and Short Stay, Manager SPD, and other front-line leaders to ensure we maintain high standards of patient care in very fast paced environments. 

You will advise medical staff, other department heads, and administrators in matters related to patient care, clinical best practices, and strategies. You will communicate the organization’s goals to the staff as we constantly seek to better serve our community by improving patient experience and delivering exceptional quality care.

 

We are looking for an experienced director, with a track record of success in mid to large sized hospitals overseeing inpatient Perioperative services. To thrive in this role, you must be competent and confident, with excellent communication skills one-on-one and in front of groups. Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) or equivalent education and experience and Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g., MSN/MBA/MHA) required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience required.
Required Licensure: 
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
