Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced medical economics and health outcomes professional who can independently lead complex analyses and generate the evidence needed to demonstrate the value of Atlas' care model.

In this role, you will work with claims, clinical, and payor data to quantify total cost of care, isolate the drivers of medical expense, and translate what you find into recommendations that clinical and executive leaders can act on. This is a standalone individual contributor role with no direct reports: you will scope your own analyses, build your own tooling, and be the person the organization turns to when a question about cost, utilization, or contract performance needs a defensible answer.

Reporting: This role will report to the Head of Finance

Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
• Build and maintain the analytics that measure performance across Atlas' value-based contracts, including total cost of care, PMPM trend, utilization, and shared savings performance
• Lead the generation of clinical, utilization, and economic evidence that demonstrates the impact of Atlas' care model through health outcomes, real-world evidence, and program evaluation studies
• Independently scope, design, and execute analyses using claims, clinical, and payor data to identify drivers of medical expense, quantify savings opportunities, and deliver clear, defensible recommendations
• Model the expected financial impact of proposed clinical programs and care model changes, then measure realized impact after launch
• Support payor contract evaluation and negotiation with rate, risk, and trend analysis
• Partner with Clinical Operations and physician leadership to translate analytic findings into operational action and measure the resulting impact on cost, utilization, quality, and patient outcomes
• Establish and document repeatable methodologies, data definitions, and quality checks so results are consistent and auditable
• Communicate findings and recommendations directly to executive leadership, physician partners, and payors
• Perform other related responsibilities as needed

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Public Health, Health Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field; advanced degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in medical economics, healthcare analytics, actuarial, health economics, outcomes research, or payor/provider finance
• Advanced SQL and Excel skills, including experience querying large healthcare datasets within a cloud data warehouse environment (Snowflake preferred)
• Strong understanding of healthcare claims data and medical economics concepts, including PMPM, utilization, risk adjustment, MLR, total cost of care, and value-based care performance measurement
• Demonstrated ability to independently frame ambiguous business questions, develop an analytical approach, and deliver actionable recommendations with minimal oversight

Preferred Qualifications
• Direct experience with value-based care arrangements, including shared savings, capitation, or other risk-bearing contracts
• Experience with oncology cost and utilization data, or other complex, high-acuity populations
• Experience designing or conducting health outcomes research, real-world evidence studies, program evaluations, or other analyses used to demonstrate clinical and economic value
• Experience selecting or implementing a BI tool (Tableau, Power BI, or similar), with an interest in shaping how Atlas delivers self-service reporting
• Experience applying Python and/or R to health economics and outcomes research, including advanced statistical analyses, economic modeling, and analysis of real-world healthcare data
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical analysis into plain-language recommendations for clinical and executive audiences
• Experience working in a rapidly growing, Value Based Care (VBC) environment

Some of the benefits of our comprehensive benefits package includes:
• Health, Dental, Vision insurance
• Competitive pay
• Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave

You will collaborate with like-minded health care professionals who, like you, understand the importance and value of Atlas' high-quality, value-based care model.
