Description
SRF Consulting Group is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor to join our growing team in Minneapolis as a Director of our Land Surveying practice. In this role, you'll lead SRF's Land Survey practice, supporting a diverse range of projects across Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of transportation, planning, and engineering professionals.
This position is a Land Survey Group leader role for candidates experienced in leadership. You will lead group operational activities including staffing, workload balancing, utilization monitoring, and financial performance tracking to optimize profitability and resource alignment. We also offer flexibility through a hybrid work environment, with the option to work full-time in the office or split your time between the office and remote work.
Responsibilities:- Contribute to the continued growth and success of SRF's survey practice.
- Assist with group leadership, staff engagement, development of strategic plans, and operational decisions.
- Lead Business development by identifying and actively pursuing project opportunities resulting in securing work.
- Make recommendations regarding company resources and employee roles.
- Lead and mentor survey staff, helping develop the next generation of survey professionals.
- Oversee and coordinate field survey operations for a variety of public infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and review right-of-way plats, parcel sketches, and ALTA Surveys.
- Manage survey deliverables, schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
- Provide technical expertise and quality oversight throughout project lifecycles.
- Support construction staking operations and oversee field crew activities as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications: - Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the State of Minnesota, Wisconsin, or North Dakota.
- Ability to obtain Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin licensure within 18 months of employment.
- Experience leading projects and mentoring technical staff.
- Strong understanding of public infrastructure, transportation, and land development projects.
- Proficiency with Trimble equipment and survey workflows.
- Experience with Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality work.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Salary Range: $145,000 - $190,000
Compensation is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, job location, internal equity, market analysis, and specific qualifications relevant to the role.
