Pitt Digital is seeking a Director, IT Infrastructure & Operations to lead combined network & systems operations organization responsible for infrastructure the University runs on - PittNet wired, wireless, & telecom; network architecture, engineering, & security enforcement; data center services; server virtualization platforms; enterprise storage; backup & recovery; patching & platform lifecycle; identity svcs; endpoint mgmt; disaster recovery svcs; cloud infrastructure; 24x7x365 monitoring operations. The organization supports Oakland & Regional Campuses delivering infrastructure & IT operational services to Univ schools, depts, health sciences units, & research centers that support delivery of academic, research, & administrative services.
You will lead three Assistant Directors & their functional groups:
- Asst Director, Network Operations: network architecture, engineering, installation, configuration, & optimization; LAN/WAN, wireless, & VoIP operations; firewalls, load balancing, DNS, & network security enforcement; network capacity planning & effectiveness analysis; & telecom.
- Asst Director, IT Operations: systems engineering for compute & data (server hosting, VMware, storage, backups, cloud, web hosting); Monitoring Operations, a 24x7x365 monitoring & Tier 1 security operations.
- Asst Director, Service Delivery: On-premise field & cable plant operations.
