Group/Division

The Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds and sells KLA’s product portfolio to help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards for technologies like AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. Our inspection, metrology, and analytics systems detect and monitor defects across logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. We also develop technologies for specialty processes, IC substrates, and PCB manufacturing, including etch and deposition, component inspection, and imaging and analytics. The Film and Scatterometry Technology (FaST) division delivers industry-leading metrology solutions essential to advanced semiconductor manufacturing. Its portfolio includes systems for measuring film thickness, critical dimensions, composition, and resistivity—key to developing and scaling next-gen IC processes. FaST partners closely with customers from early R&D through high-volume production, ensuring performance and process alignment.

Position Summary

The Director of Field Marketing is responsible for defining and executing customer growth strategies that accelerate market share gain, penetration, adoption, and revenue growth across strategic accounts and regions. This leader represents the voice of the customer within the division and ensures organizational alignment around customer priorities, competitive threats, and market opportunities. The role partners closely with Product Marketing, Sales, Applications Engineering, and Business Unit leadership to translate product strategy into measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities


Executive Customer Relationships

  • Develop senior relationships across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and executive customer organizations.
  • Represent the division during executive business reviews and strategic planning sessions.
  • Act as trusted advisor on process control strategy and technology adoption.
  • Support negotiation and resolution of major customer issues.

 

Strategic Account Leadership

  • Develop and own executive-level engagement strategies for the division’s most strategic customers.
  • Drive market share growth, adoption, and business expansion within assigned regions and accounts.
  • Establish account prioritization frameworks and growth plans.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for major customer programs and strategic opportunities.

 

Market Penetration & Adoption Strategy

  • Lead development of customer-specific penetration and adoption roadmaps.
  • Drive successful new product introductions and technology inflections at key customers.
  • Ensure alignment between customer investment priorities and division product roadmaps.
  • Remove organizational barriers slowing adoption or business expansion.

Customer Intelligence & Market Insights

  • Establish processes for gathering and leveraging customer and competitive intelligence.
  • Translate market signals into actionable recommendations for Product Marketing and Engineering.
  • Identify emerging customer needs, technology shifts, and competitive threats.
  • Influence division investment and roadmap decisions using market feedback.

Customer Success & Commercial Execution

  • Oversee strategic evaluations, pilot programs, demonstrations, and product adoption initiatives.
  • Drive closure of high-impact commercial opportunities and strategic programs.
  • Lead coordination of RFQs, business cases, and customer escalation management.
  • Ensure organizational alignment during critical engagements and technology transitions.

Organizational Leadership

  • Lead regional or global field marketing teams.
  • Establish account governance, opportunity management, and customer engagement frameworks.
  • Mentor field marketing leaders and build organizational capability.
  • Create alignment across Sales, Applications Engineering, Product Marketing, and Business Units.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years semiconductor industry experience.
  • Experienced in customer-facing leadership roles.
  • Experienced in product development and/or strategic customer adoption programs.
  • Deep understanding of advanced semiconductor manufacturing and process control technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Strong commercial, business, and strategic planning skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience OR
  • Master's Level Degree with a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience OR
  • Bachelor's Level Degree with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience



Total Rewards

Base Pay Range: $199,300.00 - $298,967.00 Annually Primary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLA
