Job Title: Director, Event Strategy & Brand Execution

Department: Global Marketing

Reports To: Senior Vice President, Brand & Creative

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Brand & Creative and based in New York, the Director, Events Strategy will lead the strategic planning, prioritization and execution of high-impact client and industry events that support Cohen & Steers' global growth initiatives. This role will partner closely with Global Wealth and Institutional Marketing leads, Sales, Sales Enablement, Product, Investments, and external partners to translate business objectives, audience insights and market themes into differentiated event experiences that acquire prospects, deepen relationships and elevate the firm's brand & investment expertise. This role will bring strategic brand activation, client engagement innovation, and a hands-on event-marketing discipline. The goal of every event is to deliver a high-quality experience that is in keeping of Cohen & Steers 40-year legacy of excellence, leaving our clients and prospects with a lasting positive impression.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:
  • Partner with Global Wealth and Global Institutional Marketing leaders in developing and translating conference and event strategies into effective client experiences and engagement programs.
  • Develop an integrated event strategy across wealth and institutional channels, aligning national conferences, proprietary forums, roadshows, webinars, sponsorships and bespoke client engagements to the firm's growth priorities, audience needs and real assets & alternative income expertise.
  • Define and continuously elevate the standards for the Cohen & Steers event experience, establishing best practices and repeatable playbooks that ensure every client interaction reflects the firm's commitment to excellence.
  • Continuously evolve the firm's event approach by identifying new formats, engagement models, technologies and experiential concepts that increase audience participation, strengthen relationship outcomes and differentiate Cohen & Steers from competitors.
  • Ensure every event reinforces the Cohen & Steers brand by translating the firm's investment expertise, market perspective and client promise into cohesive experiences, messaging, content and engagement opportunities before, during and after each event.
  • Partner with Channel Marketing to leverage audience insights, CRM data, sales input and performance metrics to recommend where the firm should invest event resources and how each opportunity should support awareness, consideration, product adoption, client retention or priority relationship development.
  • Lead Cohen & Steers conference strategy and logistics, working with internal departments and external vendors to manage the venue identification process, secure reservations, complete contract reviews, event set-up, etc.
  • Design differentiated event experiences that combine compelling content, executive access, peer-to-peer engagement and thoughtful hospitality to create meaningful interactions and lasting impressions with clients and prospects.
  • Establish consistent planning standards, timelines, briefs, budgets, run-of-show materials, stakeholder communications and post-event reporting practices to improve execution quality and scalability across the global marketing function.
  • Lead end-to-end event execution, ensuring every element including content, creative, logistics, production, technology, hospitality and stakeholder communications is delivered with operational excellence and reflects the firm's standards for quality and professionalism.
  • Partner with marketing and sales analytics to determine event effectiveness through defined KPIs, including audience quality, engagement, lead progression, advisor or consultant follow-up, relationship impact, budget efficiency and return on marketing investment.


Minimum Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of progressive event strategy, event marketing, channel marketing or integrated marketing experience, preferably within financial services, but not required.
  • Knowledge of institutional investors, consultants, and the financial-advisor and intermediary ecosystem is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and executing best-in-class innovative client-facing event strategies including proprietary events, industry conferences, sponsorships, roadshows, webinars and senior-level client engagements.
  • Strong understanding of how events support business outcomes, including audience segmentation, brand & experience activation, lead capture, post-event follow-up and measurable progression through the client journey.
  • Demonstrated success bringing an independent perspective to business strategy and building productive, peer and executive level partnerships with the C-suite, Marketing, Sales, Investments and other business leaders.
  • Ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional partners across Sales, Investments, Product, Compliance, Data, Creative, Digital and external agencies or vendors.
  • Strategic and hands-on operating style, with curiosity, a drive for innovation, strong business judgement and the ability to convert insight into focused priorities and measurable action.
  • Experience using CRM, marketing automation, event technology and performance reporting tools to evaluate engagement, improve targeting and demonstrate event-driven business impact.
  • Executive presence and strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief senior leaders, prepare speakers and represent the firm's brand with clients, partners and industry stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, project management and communication skills.
