The RoleGenmab is seeking a strategic, innovative, and digitally savvy Director, Digital Channel & Content Strategy to lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide digital communications and content strategies within the global Communications & Corporate Affairs function. This role will drive the evolution of Genmab's digital communications ecosystem, ensuring consistent, engaging, and measurable storytelling across corporate channels while strengthening the company's reputation, employee engagement, and stakeholder experience.
The Director will serve as a strategic thinker and trusted advisor to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, overseeing digital channel strategy, editorial planning, content governance, audience engagement, and digital innovation initiatives. The ideal candidate has an innovative mindset, strong business acumen and a passion for digital transformation and storytelling. The role requires strong strategic communications expertise with a deep understanding of digital platforms, new technologies and trends, audience behavior, analytics, GenAI, and modern content operations.
The Director reports to the Senior Director, Communications, Communications & Corporate Affairs and is based out of our Princeton, NJ location.
Key ResponsibilitiesDigital Channel Strategy & Governance- Develop and lead Genmab's enterprise digital channel strategy across corporate websites, in-market/country websites, intranet, social media, and emerging communications platforms and digital channels.
- Define channel governance, standards, and best practices to ensure brand consistency, compliance, accessibility, and audience relevance.
- Optimize the digital ecosystem to support corporate reputation, employee engagement, investor communications, scientific leadership visibility, and business priorities.
- Partner with IT, HR, Investor Relations, R&D and Commercial, Legal and Compliance stakeholders to align digital strategies with enterprise objectives.
- Evaluate and implement new digital technologies, tools, and platforms that enhance communications effectiveness and audience engagement.
Content Strategy & Editorial Leadership- Build Genmab.com as the authoritative source of truth for Genmab's strategy, science and evolution to a fully integrated biotech - validating messaging and corporate narrative.
- Establish content governance models and workflows to ensure consistency, quality, and operational efficiency and ensure content reflects Genmab's corporate narrative, culture, values, and strategic priorities.
- Lead enterprise digital content strategy, including editorial planning, audience segmentation, storytelling frameworks, and content lifecycle management.
- Oversee Genmab's social media corporate channels, including LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and launch readiness for Facebook and Instagram.
Analytics, Insights & Performance Optimization- Use analytics and audience insights to optimize channel strategy, engagement, and content effectiveness.
- Define and track KPIs for digital channels and content performance; develop dashboards and executive reporting to demonstrate impact and inform strategic decision-making.
- Monitor digital trends, industry best practices, and stakeholder expectations to continuously evolve Genmab's digital communications capabilities.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration- Foster strong partnerships across Communications & Corporate Affairs and other enterprise functions.
- Lead and mentor a digital communications and content strategy team.
- Manage external agencies, creative partners, and digital vendors as needed.
- Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborates with a data-driven and analytical mindset.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Media, Public Relations, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10-15+ years of experience in corporate communications, digital communications, content strategy, or related fields, and demonstrated expertise in digital platforms, CMS ecosystems, social media strategy, SEO, analytics tools, and content operations.
- Significant experience leading enterprise digital channel and content strategy within a global organization, preferably in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Edge Delivery Services, Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, that matches strong understanding of corporate communications, reputation management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience building editorial frameworks and integrated multi-channel communications strategies.
- Strong project management, organizational, and vendor management capabilities.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Experience managing teams and developing talent.
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory considerations in healthcare or life sciences communications is strongly preferred.
For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:
$174,720.00---$262,080.00
The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
