The primary work location for this role is the Berwyn, PA office with a hybrid work model.

The Team You'll Join

You'll join Envestnet's Data Intelligence team, a collaborative and strategically important group responsible for advancing enterprise data governance across the organization. Working closely with Engineering, Product, Legal, Cybersecurity, Compliance, and technology and data leadership, the team establishes the policies, standards, and controls that help protect sensitive information and support regulatory alignment. In this role, you'll lead and develop a distributed team, strengthen Envestnet's data intelligence and governance program, and expand the adoption of modern data catalog and metadata management capabilities across the enterprise.

How You'll Contribute

Provides leadership and oversight for the Data Intelligence group. Oversees team efforts to establish and implement data governance policies, procedures and protocol for protecting sensitive financial and personal information across wealth management and advisory platforms. Establishes and oversees data governance, policies and controls to ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws. Partners with legal, security, product and technical teams to embed data governance protocols into systems and processes.
  • Leads a defined Data Intelligence function (i.e., data cataloging, metadata management, data quality analysis, and data lifecycle support), with accountability for execution, quality and timeliness.
  • Implements enterprise data governance policies, standards and controls.
  • Oversees day-to-day data governance operations within assigned area.
  • Partners with Engineering, Product, Legal, Cybersecurity, and Compliance teams to ensure technology enablement, policy alignment, and effective governance.
  • Facilitates discussions enterprise-wide to ensure company services address data governance risks and align with and address client, business and regulatory needs.
  • Plays a key role, working with Cybersecurity teams to ensure alignment between security and data governance programs, including policies, practices, investigations.
  • Stays abreast of industry, regulatory and company changes and trends in data governance and information management.
  • Own and mature Envestnet's enterprise data intelligence and governance program, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, defined metrics and OKRs, and internal data strategy.
  • Directly manage and develop distributed data governance team members (including India-based teammates), including performance management, career development, and day-to-day leadership.
  • Lead the ongoing maintenance, expansion, and enterprise adoption of Atlan as the centralized data catalog, driving metadata management, data discovery, and data lineage capabilities.
  • Serve as a senior leader and strategic partner to technology/data leadership - providing vision, execution, and long-term succession planning for the data governance function.


What You'll Need to Bring
  • Candidates should demonstrate the relevant experience, skills, and capabilities needed to successfully perform in the role. Relevant experience may be gained through current responsibilities, prior roles, project work, leadership opportunities, or other comparable experiences.

Nice-to-Haves

  • 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data intelligence program leadership, ideally within financial services, fintech, or a similarly regulated industry.
  • 3+ years of direct people management experience, including hiring, performance management, and developing technical/data professionals.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of data governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM) and familiarity with regulatory requirements affecting data management (GDPR, CCPA, GLBA, SOX).
  • Hands-on experience with modern data catalog platforms (Atlan preferred) and data governance tooling ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop distributed teams across multiple time zones while maintaining strong program execution.
  • Based in the continental US, with flexibility to support both Eastern and Pacific (and IST to an extent) time zone collaboration.

Our Investment in You

This role offers a base salary range of $167,500 to $209,400. The range listed represents a good-faith estimate of base salary compensation for this position and does not include incentive compensation, equity or benefits. Individual pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. This role is eligible for an additional incentive component as part of the total rewards package.
