Full Job Description
We are looking for a Director, Originations for our client, a multi-$billion-dollar financial services institution (the "Bank"). This position will report directly to the Head of Debt Originations - and the candidate will have responsibility for all aspects of debt originations and will work closely with members of the investment teams, including originations, asset management, research, portfolio management, legal and various other internal departments.

The successful candidate will have a track record evidencing their ability to originate, structure, conduct due diligence and close senior and subordinate debt transactions. Specifically, the candidate will have a well-documented track record of negotiating and structuring complex loan structures, with experience in senior mortgage structures, including construction loans, bridge loans and subordinate structures, including mezzanine and preferred equity.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Proactively identify and generate new client and existing relationships nationwide through networking, cold calling, referrals and attending top industry conferences.
  • Sourcing, evaluation and execution of debt investments in the US market, with exposure to a variety of traditional and alternative asset classes, including multifamily, industrial, hospitality, self-storage, and retail
  • Underwrite and analyze potential loan opportunities, including cash flow projections using ARGUS and/or Excel software, valuations and loan metrics
  • Negotiate mortgage loan terms with borrowers.
  • Coordinate the originations and deal teams through investment and closing processes, including ability to oversee and mentor junior team members
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of loan investment summaries and internal credit memos for presentation to the Investment Committee

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Minimum 7-12 years of experience in real estate lending with strong contracts, relationships and standing in the investment community
  • Collaborative and team-first orientation. Ability to build relationships and work effectively with external partners and internal teams from various backgrounds and across functional areas.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial real estate lending, with a focus on multifamily, industrial, hospitality, self-storage, and retail.
  • Strong knowledge of the various mortgage products and requirements with superior technical financial modeling expertise
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work, communicate and present effectively with a wide range of people, including junior personnel and senior management.
  • Strong analytical skills and foundational real estate knowledge. Advanced user of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ARGUS

The annual full time base salary range for this role is
$200,000.00 - $250,000.00

Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and SitusAMC Senior Management approval. SitusAMC offers PTO and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the program policies. All full time employees also are eligible to participate in various benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and 401K; in each case in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
