Full Job Description
Position Purpose

The Director of Compliance is responsible for overseeing compliance activities in medical practices affiliated and managed by The Specialty Alliance to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures. This role serves as an essential resource for regulatory guidance, risk management, and the development and implementation of compliance programs in the medical practices. This position will directly contribute to and support the Specialty Alliance Compliance Program, including the management of the Compliance Liaison Program, in the respective markets by providing real-time content, training resources, and improvement opportunities in collaboration with the VP, Compliance Operations and overall direction of the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

  • Function as a primary point of contact for medical practices affiliated and managed by The Specialty Alliance regarding compliance matters.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes, communicating updates promptly to affected stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and support compliance audits, reviews, and monitoring assessments.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining compliance documentation.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on compliance standards and best practices.
  • Assist with annual training, policy and procedure development, communications, and other initiatives as directed by management.
  • Chair and prepare reports for regional compliance liaison meetings
  • Partner with practice locations and operations to manage compliance corrective action plans, when needed.

• Facilitate investigations(independent and in collaboration with other departments) into potential compliance concerns or violations.
  • Collaborate with practice leadership to promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to summarize large volumes of information from multiple sources into concise and analytical assessments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all management levels.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and assignments on multiple topics, while meeting tight timelines for deliverables.
  • Develop, prepare, and submit required reporting, including but not limited to compliance-related KPIs, dashboards, and initiatives.
  • Manage and facilitate the work of regional compliance liaisons.
  • Occasional travel to practice locations for on-site training, consultation, and assessment.
  • Identify, review, and monitor compliance risks through various sources (including third-party due diligence) and develop a plan to address and mitigate risks.
  • Quickly summarize information from multiple sources into concise and analytical assessments.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable requirements relative to regulatory compliance.
  • Other duties that may be assigned.


Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in healthcare administration, law or related field required.

EXPERIENCE: Three to five (3-5) years of compliance, and internal investigation experience at a managerial level.

OTHER QUALIFICATION: CHC, CHCP, CCEP, or CHRC certifications preferred.

  • Collaboration: must demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Integrity: must lead by example in demonstrating a sense of ethics and honesty in all aspects of the work and interactions with employees and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Document Management Systems


Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment: Work requires hand dexterity for office machine operation, stooping and bending to files and supplies, mobility to complete errands, or sitting for extended periods of time. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to twenty pounds. Occasionally the work environment may be stressful.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Normal office environment. May view computer screens for extended periods of time. Occasional evening or weekend work.
