Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director of the Cardiac Cath Lab supervises and delivers care for adult and geriatric patients in the Cath Lab. The Director of Cath Lab works with the professional employees of the hospital and with physicians, patients and their families. Collaboration with cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, the Intensive Care Unit, Medical/Surgical Unit, and Surgical Services is vital to this department.

What you will do in the role:

  • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care rendered in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
  • Responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice and managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment in the Cath Lab.
  • Accountable for maintaining and improving own professional knowledge.
  • Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care.
  • Supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the hospital.
  • Responsible for determining Cath Lab Staff's current clinical competence.
  • Responsible for assigning nursing care responsibilities to RN's with clinical knowledge and experience necessary to care for the patient.
  • Performs decentralized testing, according to protocol.


What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or other related bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years' experience as a Cath Lab Nurse
  • Current Texas licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners or current CMRT license.
  • CCRN preferred
  • Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
