Job Title: Director, Business Travel - New York City

Location: New York, NY - On-Site, In Person Position

Position Summary: The Director of Business Travel will lead the business transient sales strategy and execution for the New York City portfolio, with responsibility for driving revenue and market share across corporate negotiated, consortia, and other qualified transient segments. This highly proactive, hands-on sales role will focus on identifying and securing new business, expanding production from existing accounts, and strengthening relationships with corporate travel managers, travel management companies, agencies, and key industry partners. Working closely with the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing, Revenue Management, and property sales teams, the Director of Business Travel will translate market intelligence, account performance, and demand trends into targeted sales strategies that position each hotel for the right business and maximize portfolio-wide opportunities.

Job Duties and Functions
  • Lead business travel sales strategy and execution across the assigned NYC hotels, with accountability for achieving established revenue, room night, ADR, and account production goals.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of new corporate business through proactive prospecting, market research, referrals, networking, industry relationships, and competitive intelligence.
  • Identify, qualify, solicit, negotiate, and close new corporate negotiated and qualified transient accounts based on each hotel's positioning, demand needs, and revenue strategy.
  • Manage and grow existing corporate accounts by identifying opportunities to increase production, expand share, and introduce additional hotels within the portfolio.
  • Develop strategic account plans for key producers and target accounts, establishing clear production goals, sales activities, and opportunities for growth.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate travel managers, procurement leaders, travel management companies, consortia partners, agencies, and other business travel decision-makers.
  • Lead the annual corporate RFP process for assigned hotels, including account targeting, qualification, pricing collaboration, submissions, negotiations, follow-up, and acceptance tracking.
  • Partner closely with Revenue Management to evaluate account performance, pricing, need periods, production trends, and overall account value when developing negotiated rate strategies.
  • Analyze account production, market trends, travel patterns, competitive intelligence, and business travel demand to identify new opportunities and areas of risk.
  • Regularly evaluate negotiated account performance to ensure accounts are producing against expectations and recommend strategies for underperforming or high-potential accounts.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities across the NYC portfolio and strategically introduce clients to additional Rebel hotels based on travel patterns, location needs, price points, and traveler preferences.
  • Conduct proactive outside sales calls, client appointments, presentations, hotel tours, entertainment, and other relationship-building activities throughout the New York City market.
  • Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations that effectively communicate each hotel's positioning, value proposition, and competitive advantages.
  • Partner with property sales teams, General Managers, Revenue Management, and Marketing to ensure business travel strategies are aligned with overall hotel commercial priorities.
  • Collaborate on targeted offers, need-period strategies, and initiatives designed to stimulate incremental demand.
  • Maintain accurate and timely account records, sales activities, opportunities, production information, and next steps within applicable sales and CRM systems.
  • Provide regular reporting on pipeline activity, account production, RFP performance, wins and losses, market intelligence, and progress against established goals.
  • Represent Rebel Hotel Company and its NYC portfolio at business travel trade shows, industry events, networking opportunities, client events, and relevant market activities.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive hotel activity, new hotel supply, corporate relocations, office openings and closures, emerging industries, and other market developments that may impact business travel demand.

Required Skills, Experience and Knowledge
  • 5+ years of hotel sales experience with a concentration in corporate transient, or negotiated account sales.
  • Previous experience selling multiple hotels, brands, or a hotel portfolio strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the New York City business travel market, including corporate demand generators, key industries, travel management companies, agencies, and account opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success developing new corporate accounts and growing revenue, room nights, and market share from existing accounts.
  • Strong understanding of corporate travel procurement, negotiated and dynamic rate structures, consortia programs, GDS distribution, and transient sales strategies.
  • Experience with annual corporate RFP processes, including account qualification, solicitation, pricing strategy, negotiation, submission, and follow-through.
  • Strong understanding of hotel revenue management principles, including ADR, occupancy, need periods, demand patterns, account contribution, and displacement considerations.
  • Experience utilizing CRM, RFP, account production, and BI platforms relevant to hotel business travel sales.
  • Strong prospecting, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to interpret account production, market intelligence, and performance data to identify opportunities and inform sales strategy.
  • Strong organizational and account management skills with the ability to manage multiple hotels, accounts, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and highly proactive with the ability to independently develop and execute against a defined sales pipeline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively represent multiple hotels and distinct property positioning.
  • Ability to travel locally throughout New York City for client meetings, sales calls, property visits, networking events, and industry activities.
