Job Title: Director, Investor Services

Location: New York, NY - Hybrid

 

About the Role

As Director, Investor Services, you will lead and manage a team responsible for delivering exceptional client service and operational excellence to SS&C Technologies' investor base. This role involves overseeing all aspects of investor communication, onboarding, reporting, and inquiry resolution for a portfolio of alternative investment funds.

 

How You Will Make an Impact 

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Investor Services professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Investor Services, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to regulatory requirements and service level agreements.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for key investor relationships, building and maintaining strong partnerships.
  • Manage the investor onboarding process, including KYC/AML due diligence, subscription document review, and system setup.
  • Supervise the preparation and distribution of investor statements, capital calls, distributions, and other ad-hoc reporting.
  •  Ensure timely and accurate resolution of investor inquiries, collaborating with internal teams (e.g., fund accounting, legal, compliance) as needed.
  •  Develop and implement best practices, policies, and procedures to enhance the investor experience and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze team performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Participate in client pitches and due diligence meetings, representing SS&C's Investor Services capabilities.
  •  Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements impacting investor services.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline processes and improve data integrity.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA.
  •  8+ years of experience in investor services, client services, or fund operations within the alternative investments industry (hedge funds, private equity, real estate).
  • 5+ years of leadership experience or management role, with proven ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of alternative investment fund structures, operations, and regulatory requirements (e.g., AML/KYC, FATCA, CRS).
  • Strong knowledge of investor reporting requirements and best practices.
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard fund administration software (e.g., Geneva, Advent, Yardi) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.

New York: The expected base salary for the position is between $115,000 USD to $210,000 USD.

 

 

In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for consideration on an annual basis for a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based upon individual and business performance at the company’s discretion.
