Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree and eight years experience in marketing, digital communications, or advertising. The ideal candidate will be a strong, creative, and flexible leader with a proven track record of success in a complex environment and experience in successfully motivating and directing a team of dynamic professionals. Background of working within an academic medical environment preferred.
Job Duties
1. Create an annual marketing plan for the UT Southwestern Health System. Develop and manage brand/reputational marketing and communications programs, as well as direct response marketing programs for key clinical areas that produce measureable impact on patient registrations.
2. Develop and guide a strong core marketing and digital engagement infrastructure that serves the needs of Health System leadership and faculty. Build and unite a strong team while being an equally strong team player.
3. Responsible for the establishment and oversight of a system of internal controls, which provides reasonable assurance that marketing and advertising dollars are being allocated effectively, that operations are efficient, assets are safeguarded, and financial and volume growth information is reliable.
4. Leverage data analytics to identify market opportunities to gain competitive advantage and develop specific marketing and outreach initiatives, partnering where appropriate with community resources.
5. Work with Health System leadership and the Physician Outreach team to create a system of growing, tracking, and managing physician referrals.
6. Direct the development of programmatic promotional materials as needed, targeting patients, referring physicians, donors, trainees, and the community at large.
7. Working closely with UTSW Digital, Creative, and Web Services, ensure consistent brand articulation across all digital channels, including social media. Develop, implement, and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth interface between offline and online activities, inbound and outbound marketing programs.
8. Negotiate with and manage the work of outside vendors as appropriate.
9. Work with leadership to regularly conduct relevant market research; coordinate and oversee this activity. Monitor trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
10. Maintain awareness of the local and regional competitive landscape and of key national market segments and trends. Proactively leverage Medical Center research and other existing sources of information to generate innovative marketing initiatives that distinguish the institution from its competitors.
