Functional area: IT / Digital
Remuneration: Exempt

The Digital Operations team owns and manages multiple digital products on behalf of the business. The Digital Operations Product Owner will be accountable to the Operations & Asset Management department and work consistently with the IT/OT department to maintain and further develop current products, along with creating new products. The team works with software developers, SCRUM masters, and tech leads using an agile methodology.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Work within a SCRUM team to manage user stories - write, prioritize, clarify, review, and close them, and communicate new features and bug fixes to users and stakeholders
  • Gather feedback from user groups (Field Operations, Control Center, Engineering, etc.) on existing features and their further needs to develop new user stories
  • Meet with technical teams in IT/OT and Engineering departments to understand the capability of the underlying systems and develop solutions to enhance the product landscape
  • Develop documentation, training material, and release communications to support product adoption and effective system use
  • Analyze the application landscape and identify strategic needs and gaps that can be supported and filled by product enhancements, feature development, and/or new products. Present those ideas to management and develop implementation plans as needed
  • Develop and track Product KPIs and evaluate the success of products and functionalities
  • Manage the budget for development resources working on improvements to the products
  • Define user-level access permissions and manage approvals day-to-day for user access
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager


Job Requirements and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Science, IT, or Business required
  • Minimum 3 years related experience
  • Experience in software development required
  • Experience as a product owner strongly preferred
  • Experience in Energy or Industrial Controls fields preferred
  • Training in SCRUM strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps preferred
  • Proven project management skills including scope management, prioritization, and facilitation
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage stakeholder relationships
  • Strong analytical abilities and the ability to quickly understand, clarify, and document new concepts
  • Ability to maintain focus while context-switching, working both independently and on a team
  • High motivation and ability to operate and grow independently while communicating with others as needed
  • Desire to learn about RWE and the renewable energy space
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
