Combining technical expertise in diagnostic solutions with strong stakeholder engagement, the digital consultant ensures solutions deliver measurable clinical, operational, and financial outcomes that drive customer satisfaction and Roche's growth.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Leadership & Subject Matter Expertise- Design differentiated digital solutions balancing customer value with business sustainability.
- Adopt and execute "Standard Work" across franchises and global teams to ensure consistent quality and delivery.
- Support consulting engagements for local and regional projects, leveraging standard analytical methods and cross-functional coordination.
- Apply validated approaches such as Lean and Six Sigma for pre- and post-sales consulting.
- Seek to offer the best technical solution and process improvements linked to financial viability for the customer and Roche.
- Deliver foundational digital consulting services including workflow planning, process analysis, future-state design, and change management.
- Master key tools: Total Value of Ownership (TVO), ROI analysis and Salesforce.
- Ensure proper project handoff to implementation teams with agreed deliverables.
- Provide feedback to help refine and evolve proprietary tools, techniques, and methodologies within the Digital Consulting (DC) practice.
Pre-Sales & Customer Advisory- Provide pre-sales support to customers and sales teams for the development of recommended complex diagnostic intelligent integrated solutions, including tangible value propositions (ROIs, before and after analysis).
- Partner with Sales and Regional Accounts to identify opportunities and integrate digital consulting data into tactical business planning and account management.
- Utilize Strategic Visioning and Co-Creation methodologies to help customers define their operational direction, ensuring Roche digital solutions are central to their objectives.
- Monitor sales opportunities for which projects have been developed until the customers27 final decision, in alignment with the commercial organization.
Internal & External Communication- Communicate, internally and outside RDC, the value of Digital Consulting services through written documents, case studies, marketing materials, and internal knowledge sharing.
- Represent Digital Consulting as a credible advisor within the local industry and customer community.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement- Collect and provide feedback (voice of the customer input) to ensure Digital Consulting solutions are meeting client needs and functioning according to specifications.
- Collaborate with fellow Roche Consulting colleagues to use, refine, and evolve proprietary tools and techniques to generate high-value deliverables and best practices.
- Continuously support the improvement of the overall consulting solution offering, products, and services Roche supports based on customer insights.
- Assist customer, support service, and IT teams in implementing detailed customer installation requirements to ensure customers27 needs have been met and that the product or solution is fully functioning according to expectations.
Administrative & Compliance- Perform related administrative duties such as creating and submitting expense reports and status reports and adhere to any additional regulatory requirements.
WHO YOU ARE:You are an agile and analytical consultant with a proven track record of navigating complex laboratory and matrixed healthcare environments to drive operational improvement. You excel at managing diverse stakeholder relationships and translating site-level operational needs into actionable project objectives that deliver long-term value. Your expertise lies in workflow optimization, data analysis, and the ability to guide customers through change by anchoring recommendations in data. You possess the collaborative acumen to work effectively across specialized internal teams, fostering a culture of execution and continuous improvement across the Roche Consulting organization.
Our ideal candidate would reside on the western half of the USA or in the Northeast within 50 miles of a major airport.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor27s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Medical Technology, Life Sciences AND 4 years of laboratory IT, general IT, product line experience
OR
- 6 years experience of laboratory IT, general IT, product line experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of experience in the diagnostics, healthcare, or manufacturing industry in Operations, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, or equivalent
- Experience with process mapping, statistical analysis, and reporting tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to influence customer decision-makers by articulating data-driven ideas and influencing adoption of solutions.
- Able to travel +75% of the time.
- MLT/MLS/MB ASCP certification, HT/HTL ASCP certification or equivalent.
- Strong regulatory knowledge of CAP, CLIA, and TJC.
- Black Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma, a relevant advanced degree (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Operations Management), or validated equivalent enterprise continuous improvement experience
- 3+ years of commercial experience in a sales, service-oriented, or consulting environment.
- Proficiency using Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Middleware; familiarity with the navify Portfolio.
- Strong organization and analytical skills to uncover key technical, operational, and strategic issues.
- Ability to use analytical methods and applications to support consulting engagement conclusions and recommendations.
- Ability to credibly recommend changes to laboratory practices to improve waste, cost, quality, and turnaround times.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively influence and collaborate with people at various organizational levels internally and within customer organizations.
- Familiarity with Roche and/or competitor products and industry trends.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis is $100,100.00 to $185,900.00 USD Annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
