We are seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support a federal agency's application modernization effort in the Washington, DC area. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building secure, efficient pipelines and helping modernize mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with GitHub and/or Azure DevOps to improve secure delivery.
• Automate deployments and streamline release processes.
• Support secure development practices across the team.
• Collaborate with developers, security, and operations partners.
• Contribute to application modernization and legacy system transition work.
• Help troubleshoot build, deployment, and integration issues.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum delivery cycles.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in computer sciences, Information Technology or a related field is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Five plus (5+) years of professional frontend or DevOps development experience, preferably in a federal office setting
- Strong experience with Python 3.x
- Experience with FastAPI, Flask or Django
- Rest API development experience
- Agile/Scrum Experience
- CI/CD & DevSecOps experience preferably in a federal setting
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Must have and be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Qualifications• Federal experience.
• Legacy modernization experience.
• Experience with GitHub and/or Azure DevOps.
• Security+ or cloud certifications preferred.
• Python Institute certification, such as PCEP, PCAP, or PCPP, strongly preferred.
Work Environment & Schedule• Full-time remote role based in the Washington, DC area
• Periodic travel to client meetings, planning sessions, or program events as needed
• Standard business hours with flexibility based on project requirements
