Full Job Description
This role is ideal for an engineer with strong Linux systems expertise who believes infrastructure should be automated, repeatable, observable, secure, and maintainable. You will develop automation for provisioning, configuration, deployment, patching, monitoring, and operational workflows while partnering with application, security, infrastructure, and development teams.

As a Level III engineer, you will also serve as a technical resource for the team, lead complex infrastructure initiatives, troubleshoot difficult production issues, and help establish DevOps and Linux engineering standards.

This is a remote position and candidates must live within approximately a 70-mile radius of our office locations in Allen, TX; Louisville, KY; Charlotte, NC; Overland Park, KS; Birmingham, AL; Cedar Falls, IA; Springfield, MO; or Monett, MO.

What you'll be responsible for:
• Actively participates in all phases of the software development life cycle, including research, prototyping, detailed design, development, technical documentation, and defect fixing.
• Contributes to the technical design and implementation of system deployment automation and configuration management tools.
• Develops software in appropriate scripting languages using agile design-build-test methodologies.
• Configures and maintains container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes to deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications effectively.
• Constructs, improves, and maintains the automated deployment pipelines.
• Collaborates closely with development, operations, and security teams to foster a culture of collaboration, communication, and knowledge sharing, driving continuous improvement across the organization.
• Adheres to organizational standards, policies, and procedures related to software development, security, and compliance.
• Manages database service levels and performance.
• May perform other job duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:
• Minimum of 4 years of experience designing, developing, and supporting software applications.
• Experience with C# development, SQL database administration, code debugging and troubleshooting, source control/code management practices, and research and development activities focused on enhancing software solutions.
• Experience automating Linux patching and operating-system lifecycle management.
• Experience implementing Linux security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance controls.
• Familiarity with artifact repositories and package-management solutions.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and integrating infrastructure platforms through APIs.
• Experience working within an Agile or DevOps engineering environment.

What would be nice for you to have:
• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, Podman, or other container technologies.
• Experience supporting infrastructure in Azure, AWS, or other cloud environments.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware.
