Original Posting Date: 10/19/26 Job Title: Developer (multiple positions available) Location: 3410 Hillview Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94304 Work Model: Hybrid Work Model Purpose and Objective: SAP America, Inc. seeks a Developer (multiple positions available) at our Palo Alto, CA location to design and develop robust cloud-native applications using the SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) model. Expectations and Tasks: Execute complex CDS/CQL data modeling for SAP HDI containers and package deployments using Cloud MTA build tools. Build seamless extensions using ABAP Cloud and facilitate real-time communication via SAP Event Mesh. Develop high-performance, scalable SAP Fiori applications using SAPUI5, featuring custom XML views, OData V4 binding, and SAP Cloud SDK integration. Architect and implement Generative AI workflows within SAP Build to automate complex business processes. Orchestrate distributed data processing via SAP Datasphere and deploy fine-tuned models to SAP AI Core using the SAP FedML library. Implement large-scale data pipelines using PySpark and Databricks, leveraging Apache Arrow Flight for high-speed, zero-copy data interoperability. Ensure rigorous data governance and privacy using SAP HANA Data Anonymization. Automate BTP infrastructure provisioning (Kyma/Cloud Foundry) using BTP CLI scripts to manage subaccounts, entitlements, and service instances. Lead hands-on Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) to benchmark distributed systems using JMeter. Design multi-region database replication strategies with PostgreSQL and validate horizontal scaling logic within cloud clusters. Qualifications Education and Occupational Experience: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience: Experience must include three (3) years involving each of the following: - Developing SAP BTP applications using SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) model; - Performing CDS/CQL data modeling for SAP HDI containers; - Creating ABAP Cloud extensions integrated via SAP Event Mesh; - Packaging applications using Cloud MTA build tools; - Implementing Generative AI workflows for business process automation using SAP Build and distributed data processing using SAP Datasphere; - Enforcing data privacy with SAP HANA Data Anonymization, and deploying finetuned models to SAP AI Core via SAP Federated Machine Learning (SAP FedML) library; - Developing Secure Enterprise Integration flows (iFlows) within SAP Integration Suite, utilizing Groovy scripting for message processing, and enforcing security with OIDC principal propagation via SAP Cloud Connector and XSUAA; - Automating infrastructure provisioning for SAP BTP environments (Kyma and Cloud Foundry) by utilizing btp CLI scripts to manage service instances, subaccount subscriptions, role collections, and entitlements; - Developing scalable SAP Fiori Apps using SAPUI5, creating custom XML Views and Fragments, and implementing OData V4 model binding and routing configurations integrated with SAP Cloud SDK; and - Implementing scalable data processing pipelines via PySpark and Databricks and utilizing the Apache Arrow Flight protocol to facilitate real-time, zero-copy data interoperability across data lakehouses. Experience must involve one (1) year in the following: - Developing hands-on Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) to evaluate distributed system performance using JMeter, implementing multi-region database replication with PostgreSQL, and validating horizontal scaling logic within cloud-based clusters. Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $172,369 - $206,460. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $172,369 - $229,400. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
