Job DescriptionDewberry is currently seeking an Deputy Project Manager to join our Energy/Institutional/Commercial Team in Baltimore, Maryland.
Typical projects involve site/civil design for energy clients include regulated utilities such as electric and gas or developer based projects such as solar, fiber, data centers, etc. This is an excellent career opportunity for a self-motivated and talented individual to join a team of outstanding professionals, and the opportunity to mentor entry-level staff in the application of the latest technology to help our clients solve their most challenging problems.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Project Manager in coordinating with other related disciplines to help inform, manage and meet client service commitments.
- Assists the Project Manager with client communication, budget oversight and construction document (plan and specifications) and technical reports preparation and/or oversight; engineering analyses, cost estimates and quality control/quality assurance in order to deliver a quality design product.
- Assists the Project Manager in meeting establish milestones and completion dates for projects and monitoring progress for final evaluation of results.
- Assists the Project Manager in preparation of proposals.
- Helps execute comprehensive client service plan and project schedules/budgets/billing.
- Training and mentoring entry level staff.
- Prepare comprehensive feasibility, entitlement, and construction documents ensuring all items are coordinated and closed out.
Required Skills & Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional License required (PE)
- Strong capabilities and proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D or equivalent model based drafting platform.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience producing and overseeing full project design for site and linear and site based projects, including zoning review, layout, grading, stormwater management, sediment and erosion control, water and sewer design, landscape design, forest conservation, permitting, cost estimating, and quality control review.
- Minimum of one year experience assisting with proposal, scope and fee preparation and project schedule preparation with MS Project.
- Minimum of one year experience successfully interacting with public and private agencies to advance projects.
- Proven ability to make decisions and provide design recommendations/solutions to management and design team.
- Minimum of one year experience training and mentoring entry level staff.
- Proven ability to handle situations where limited information is available.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and collegially in a consistently elevated tempo environment.

Salary Range
The projected range for this position is $94,850 to $121,950 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for Baltimore, MD only.
