Dewberry is currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer in our Virginia Beach, VA office. This position offers great potential for professional growth in a fantastic working environment and the opportunity to apply innovative design methods to water resource projects. Typical projects involve stormwater management design, stream restoration / natural channel design, storm drainage design, floodplain management and analysis, and other watershed planning projects. Our Richmond Water Resources group serves a wide range of municipal, state, federal and private sector clients. Our engineers are on the cutting edge of innovation, providing unique and challenging solutions while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop a balanced design.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • B.S. or MS Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering (or related engineering field), with emphasis in water resources.
  • 4-8 years' water resources-related experience.
  • Experience in watershed and storm water management, design of stormwater quantity and quality control measures (specifically to Virginia DEQ BMP Clearinghouse), surface water hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, drainage design, erosion and sediment control design, and watershed/waterway modeling
  • Knowledge/experience with ESRI Arc GIS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, HY-8, TR-20, AutoCAD.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • P.E. license preferred

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $80,000-$103,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
