Dental Hygiene Clinical Director (Full-Time)

Location: Phoenix Campus | On-Site

Type: Full-Time | Salaried Exempt

Department: Dental Hygiene Program

Compensation: $78,030 - $97,535 per year

Position Summary

Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced Dental Hygienist to serve as Dental Hygiene Clinical Director for our CODA-accredited program. In this role, you will oversee the daily rhythm of clinical operations, manage and mentor clinical faculty, and ensure students develop the clinical competency, safety standards, and confidence needed for professional practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Operations & Management: Oversee daily clinic activities, ensure compliance with patient care standards, manage patient concerns, oversee facility/equipment maintenance, and maintain medical emergency protocols.
  • Faculty Leadership & Calibration: Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and evaluate clinical faculty. Host regular faculty calibration meetings and manage clinic-related payroll and coverage.
  • Student Education & Mentorship: Collaborate with Clinic Coordinators to review student progress, provide clinical remediation and tutoring, and instruct students in classroom, lab, or clinical environments.
  • Compliance & Accreditation: Maintain CODA accreditation standards, update clinic manuals and safety policies (OSHA/HIPAA/QA), and manage faculty credential documentation.
  • Budget & Administration: Oversee clinic supply inventory, manage purchasing within the annual budget, participate in advisory board meetings, and assist with student applicant selection.
  • Community Outreach: Assist with patient recruitment and build relationships with local dental community partners.


Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (Baccalaureate) or higher from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the USDE or CHEA.
  • Program Graduate: Graduate of a CODA-accredited Dental Hygiene or Dental program.
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice as a Dental Hygienist.
  • Licensure & Certifications: Active, unrestricted state license and all required scope-of-practice certifications (e.g., CPR, local anesthesia/nitrous oxide if applicable).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and clinical software applications.
