Job Description & Summary
In deal recovery management at PwC, you will focus on helping clients navigate financial distress and recover from challenging business situations. You will be responsible for providing strategic advice and solutions to optimise recovery outcomes.

Purpose-led work you'll be part of

As a Restructuring Senior Manager, you will work with the partner team to support business development activities, lead teams to execute advisory & restructuring mandates and support the development and growth of our restructuring team generally. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Actively participating in business development activities to expand relationships and source new mandates
  • Helping develop and implement turnaround plans or realization plans with the goal of maximizing recoveries to stakeholders
  • Conducting financial analysis and developing financial and cash flow forecasts including the development of detailed models and conducting sensitivity analysis
  • Applying your business acumen to develop or assess business plans to support turnaround plans
  • Working with additional advisors to integrate tax, regulatory and other legal considerations into the development of turnaround or realization plans
  • Coordinating the execution of distressed M&A or refinancing activities
  • Assisting in the preparation of high-quality presentations and/or reports for key stakeholders
  • Taking a "hands-on" role to manage stakeholders and lead change
  • Running in-Court and out of Court restructuring or realization processes
  • Supporting the learning and development of team members through the delivery of quality in-flight learning during the execution of mandates and the provision of regular feedback


Experiences and skills you'll use to solve

  • A professional accounting designation, or international equivalent, or similar post-graduate designation demonstrating financial, business or management expertise
  • Equivalent experience in a professional services or business advsory environment
  • Specific financial restructuring, operational restructuring or insolvency experience, including experience advising debtors and creditors, and acting pursuant to appointments under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act
  • Holding the CIRP designation provided by the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP) and the Licensed Insolvency Trustee designation provided by the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy (OSB)
  • Strong technical skills, including the ability to evaluate financial results and detailed financial/cash flow forecasts
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and report writing skills, including experience with court reports and complex deliverables
  • Solid project management skills and the developing ability to lead high performing project teams
  • Solid client relationship development and business development abilities
  • The ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time within Canada and internationally

The salary range for this position is $112,400 - $162,400. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.
