A CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph Location: Annapolis Junction, MD Salary Information: 148K - 204K Compensation and labor categories are defined in accordance with program requirements and government guidelines. Salary within the posted range is determined based on an individual's experience, education, certifications, and overall qualifications, and may be further adjusted based on benefit selections. Job Description: Were seeking an Database Administrator who needed to support a large, complex, fast-paced, operational program. The selected individual will assess, audit, analyze, validate, and report database Security Requirements Guide (SRG) and STIG vulnerabilities while ensuring security controls are implemented in accordance with DoD, DISA, and cybersecurity policies and procedures. They will evaluate discrepancies against applicable policies, directives, and database SRG/STIG requirements, and document recommended additions, deletions, or revisions. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain DISA STIGs for platforms Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra and/or MONGO DB.
  • Perform vulnerability scans, analyze findings, and remediate security weaknesses.
  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and contribute to Authority to Operate (ATO) packages.
  • Conduct routine security readiness reviews and document Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) items.
  • Collaborate with Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) to validate and report compliance.
  • Review database SRG and/or STIGs as updates are released, and report changes with the potential to have significant impact.
  • Determine the impact and risk of submitted change requests prior to implementation and participate in meetings to provide cyber oversight for web changes that affect the level of risk.
  • Perform system updates and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) patching.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database problems.
  • Perform database recovery actions.
  • Modify existing database scripts to enhance systems support and create new database scripts for recurring database issues.
  • Develop and execute SQL queries for routine and ad hoc requests.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have at least 5 years of demonstrated experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Must have at least 5 years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
  • In-depth experience implementing and maintaining database security controls.
  • In-depth experience applying Oracle CPU patches, IAVA patches, and other database products.
  • In-depth experience with Linux security as it relates to Oracle databases.
  • In-depth experience troubleshooting and resolving database problems and issues.
  • Must have hands-on experience installing, configuring, and upgrading RDBMS software.
  • Must have experience with procedural languages such as PL/SQL.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with real-time, highly available data replication technologies such as Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Streams, Oracle GoldenGate, Sybase Replication Server.
  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and/or as a member of an Agile team.
  • Extensive, in-depth knowledge of databases, with primary focus on Oracle and other relational and non-relational/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
  • Experience using Oracle SQL/PLSQL, and SQL in general.
  • Experience with MongoDB and/or Cassandra.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline and at least eight (8) years of relevant experience.
