Full Job Description
The Data Scientist is a highly analytical and business-savvy individual contributor who acts as an internal expert and strategic partner to various business units. This role focuses on tackling complex business challenges by leveraging data, ML, and AI for decision-making and delivering actionable analytical solutions. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies, including Google Looker, Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, BigQuery and more to support our AI and data initiatives. The successful candidate will be a rapid and eager learner with the potential to grow and contribute to the strategic direction of our agentic workflows and data infrastructure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Problem Framing & Solution Definition:

  • Proactively engage with business stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Product, Operations, Finance) to understand their objectives, challenges, and data needs for assigned projects.


  • Translate vague business questions into clear, measurable analytical problems and hypotheses.


  • Scope and define agentic and data science projects, outlining objectives, deliverables, timelines, and required resources.


  • Recommend the most appropriate analytical approaches and methodologies (e.g., descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive analytics).


Data Analysis & Insight Generation:

  • Design, develop, evaluate, and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning models for tackling business challenges.


  • Develop compelling narratives around data findings and present insights in a clear, concise, and actionable manner to diverse audiences.


  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques (e.g., statistical analysis, A/B testing design, segmentation) to answer critical business questions.


Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management:

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with business leaders and team members across the organization.


  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather requirements and validate analytical outputs.


  • Champion data-driven decision-making and enhance data literacy within business units.


  • Manage expectations and communicate progress, challenges, and outcomes effectively.


Tooling & Best Practices:

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in data science and analytics.


  • Create and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.


  • Advise on the selection and effective use of analytics and AI tools (e.g., BI platforms, statistical software, latest models and features).


  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of analytical processes and best practices within the Data & Analytics department.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science or a related quantitative field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in an analytical role, such as a Data Analyst or Data Scientist with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and solution delivery.
  • 1+ years of experience developing AI agents and agentic workflows, custom-tuning, prompting, and instructing AI models


SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Strong proficiency with scripting languages for data analysis (e.g., Python, R).
  • Experience developing custom AI agents and agentic workflows.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative coding practices.
  • Proven ability to translate complex business problems into analytical requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Hands-on experience with NLP technologies and handling of unstructured text.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Proven track record of building end-to-end pipelines for production.
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of the latest ML/DL/Statistical techniques and ability to pragmatically apply them to real-world problems.
  • Detail-oriented; critical thinker; strong individual contributor and team player.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., GCP) is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and solving business problems.
  • Desire to be a team-player whether partnering with other data analysts or working with internal stakeholders.
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Familiarity with GCP cloud data platforms and data warehousing concepts.
    • Experience with data visualization and dashboarding in Looker.
    • Previous experience in a consulting role (internal or external).
