The Data Insights & Marketing Targeting Manager is a key member of the U.S. Marketing organization, responsible for leveraging data-driven insights to inform marketing strategies, optimize audience targeting, and support the successful execution of acquisition, growth, retention, and engagement campaigns. This role combines advanced analytical expertise with strong business acumen to transform complex data into actionable marketing intelligence. Utilizing tools such as SAS, SQL, Python, Databricks, and Salesforce Data Cloud, the specialist performs in-depth analysis, develops audience segmentation strategies, and delivers insights that drive customer engagement, business growth, and measurable marketing outcomes. The successful candidate will develop deep subject matter expertise across customer, product, and marketing data assets, enabling them to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and solve business challenges through data. Working closely with Marketing, Business Line, Compliance, and Technology partners, the specialist will influence targeting strategies, support data-driven decision making, and communicate insights through presentations, reports, and other supporting materials.
Key responsibilities of the Data Insights & Marketing Targeting Strategy Manager include:
- Translate business and marketing strategies into detailed campaign data specifications, defining targeting criteria, audience selection logic, campaign parameters, and execution requirements while ensuring successful navigation through Compliance and governance approvals.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on marketing data assets, leveraging analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, Python, and Databricks to conduct complex data analysis, validate targeting strategies, and support campaign execution.
- Utilize Salesforce Data Cloud capabilities, including Audience Creation, Data 360 Queries, Query Editor, Data Transforms, Activations, and segmentation tools to develop and deploy targeted customer audiences.
- Conduct advanced customer, campaign, and performance analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights that improve marketing effectiveness and drive business results.
- Partner with Marketing Planners, Business Line stakeholders, Compliance, Technology, and other cross-functional teams to support the development and execution of customer communications and marketing campaigns.
- Continuously evaluate and improve audience targeting methodologies, segmentation approaches, and data processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and campaign performance.
- This role will be in office no less than 4 days per week
Preferred Skills:- Hands-on experience in executing marketing campaigns with Salesforce Data Cloud & Marketing Cloud
- Actual hands-on experience in creating audiences in Data Cloud and activating them
- In-depth hands-on experience with data analysis in a database environment using SAS, SQL, Python or R in formulating relevant and meaningful data analysis
- Experience in leveraging marketing segmentation techniques using customer and prospect data for targeting campaigns
- Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders and influence marketing strategy
The Business Insights Specialist is responsible for conducting analyses on curated and/or aggregated DataMart's in conjunction with deep business subject matter expertise, to generate relevant analytical insights for business issues and identify opportunities to drive business growth and value. This role works in partnership with business leaders to present or generate appropriate insights including the delivery of supporting collateral and/or presentations.
Depth & Scope:- Works autonomously and accountable for acting as a lead within a specialized business management function and may provide work direction to others
- Provides seasoned specialized knowledge, advice and/or guidance to various stakeholders and team members
- Scope of role may have enterprise impact
- Focuses on short to medium - term issues (e.g. 6-12 months)
- Undertakes and completes a variety of complex projects and initiatives requiring specialist knowledge and/or the integration of cross functional processes within own area of expertise
- Oversees and/or independently performs tasks from end-to-end
- May interact with any hierarchy level up to executive leaders and external vendors
Education & Experience:- Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, finance or computer science) Graduate's degree preferred with either progressive project work experience, or;
- 5+ year of relevant experience; higher degree education and research tenure can be counted

- Provides business explanation for anomalies/outliers identified during analysis
- Works with business functions and analytics teams to transition business requirements to analytics requirements
- Trains business users on how to integrate analytics into decisions
- Leverages knowledge of data capabilities to build and deliver insights
- Develops analysis to corroborate initial proof of concept
- Executes on data requests accurately and within a timely manner
- Identifies and investigates data/analytics related issues
- Ensures business operations are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals and physical control of assets)
- Leads/facilitates and/or implements action/remediation plans to address performance/risk/governance issues
- Actively manages relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or control functions and ensures alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements
