Job Description

The Data Governance Analyst shall provide data analytics, data management, and data architecture support. All data related activities shall comply with appropriate laws and policies and take into consideration the protection of individuals' civil liberties and privacy.

Data Governance Analyst (SME)
  • Act as the Cross Support team lead over the portfolio specialist, capture analyst, and content managers.
  • Leverage tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, or similar ITSM tools to monitor and review team member assignments to ensure equitable use of resources, and to exercise quality control over tasks.
  • Meet with team members daily in SCRUM fashion (10 mins) to provide an opportunity to hear risks and will mitigate as necessary.
  • Responsible to ensure team members coordinate across teams as necessary for more complex tasks to ensure success, and to ensure team members embrace skill enhancement through mentoring and on-the-job training moments.
  • Provide a leadership role and has a deep and broad understanding of technologies (HTML, JavaScript, Python), database structures, and Government product development process.
  • Responsible for documenting and communicating data process business rules and systems across mission sectors, contracts and pricing, and IT.
  • Work on multiple projects and with stakeholders that plan and develop data related solutions.
  • Provide technical and analytic support that create symmetry and consistency across systems for data processing.
  • Translate technical and analytical results into valuable business and system insights and recommendations; presents findings and recommendations to managers and oversees implementation of approved recommendations.
  • Work with the cross-functional team to identify, evaluate, implement and communicate business rules for data management across company's systems.
  • Assure projects / requests are appropriately completed and aligned with the strategy and direction of the Client.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technical and analytical techniques including advanced knowledge of data management, Big Data, Warehouses, RDBs, SQL, and Master Database Management systems.


Qualifications

Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
  • Applicable degree(s): Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Database Administration, Geographic Information Systems, Information Security, Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Network Administration, Software Development, Technical Writing, or Web Design & Development.
  • Demonstrated relevant expertise supporting U.S. Federal Government as a Database Administrator/Manager/Systems Engineer, with hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications.
  • Minimum five (5) years' working knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and Structured Query Language (SQL). These five (5) years must be concurrent with the requisite years of work experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years' working knowledge of database design, data modeling, and data mining techniques, query creation and report generation, documentation, coding, DBA case tools (frontend/backend) with third party tools, and programming languages application programming interface (API). These five (5) years may be concurrent with the requisite years of work experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years' working knowledge of statistical packages for analyzing large datasets. These five (5) years may be concurrent with the requisite years of work experience.
  • Ability to effectively establish and execute strategic and critical task priorities to demonstrate problem-solving skills, and to think algorithmically.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with reporting packages and databases (SQL preferred), and some programming (JavaScript, XML, or ETL frameworks).

  • Ability to understand U.S. Federal Government business needs, with strong analytical and organizational skills.


Additional Information

Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
