Data Expert- Supplier Lifecycle Management (SLM) Category: Software Development/ Engineering
Main location: Canada, Quebec, Montre9al
Position ID:J1126-0115
Employment Type: Full Time
Position Description: The Data Engineer builds and runs the data pipelines that make Jaggaer SLM the golden record for supplier data at BRP. The role sits in the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team and works alongside the implementation partner, the supplier data architect, and EDM data analysts.
The core job is moving supplier data cleanly through its path: SAP ECC populates Jaggaer, Jaggaer feeds back to ECC through iDocs, and ECC carries through to S/4HANA. Along the way the engineer turns agreed business and cleansing rules into repeatable, tested transformations, and supports consolidation of duplicate suppliers.
Responsibilities
Data conversion and migration
Design, build and run extract, transform and load jobs that move vendor master data from SAP ECC into Jaggaer SLM for initial load and cutover.
Implement cleansing, standardization and enrichment rules documented by EDM analysts from business rule decisions.
Build the merge and survivorship logic that executes approved supplier consolidations, with full traceability from legacy to golden record.
Run mock conversions and dress rehearsals; reconcile record counts, key fields and financial relevant attributes after every load.
Integration
Support the iDoc based integration between Jaggaer and SAP ECC (CREMAS and related message types): mapping, monitoring, error handling and reprocessing.
Validate that supplier data flowing back from Jaggaer to ECC stays fit for the downstream ECC to S/4HANA migration (Business Partner model readiness).
Work with the implementation partner and integration teams on interface specifications, test scenarios and defect resolution.
Data quality and governance
Turn data quality rules for supplier critical data elements into automated checks with scorecards and exception reports.
Profile source data and surface issues early to the data architect, analysts and business data owners.
Keep lineage, mapping documents and technical metadata current in the governance catalogue.
Run and sustain
Hand over production grade, documented, monitored pipelines that EDM can operate after go live.
Write runbooks for recurring loads, error queues and duplicate prevention checks.
Required qualifications
8+ years in data engineering, with at least 2 full cycle ERP or master data conversion projects.
Hands on SAP vendor master experience (LFA1, LFB1, LFM1, LFBK and related tables) and working knowledge of IDoc structures and monitoring (WE02/WE19, BD87).
Advanced SQL and Python for profiling, transformation and reconciliation.
Experience with at least one ETL/ELT or migration toolset, such as SAP Data Services, Syniti, SAP Migration Cockpit, Informatica, or a cloud stack (Snowflake, dbt, Azure Data Factory).
Proven record building matching, deduplication and survivorship logic for master data.
Comfortable working from documented business rules and turning them into tested, version controlled code.
Clear written communication; able to explain data issues to business owners and integrators alike.
