Location: Plantation, Florida (Onsite)

Role:
The Technology & Data team is seeking an experienced Data Engineer II to support the design, development, and optimization of enterprise data solutions within a healthcare environment. This role is responsible for building scalable data pipelines, integrating data across multiple platforms, and delivering high-quality data assets that support analytics, reporting, and business decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Databricks, SQL, SQL Server, SSIS, PL/SQL, and healthcare data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Databricks and SQL technologies.
  • Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes across healthcare systems and enterprise data sources.
  • Develop and support data warehouses, data marts, and analytical data models.
  • Create, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and database objects.
  • Develop and support SSIS packages and data integration workflows.
  • Utilize Databricks, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake technologies to process and transform large datasets.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and application teams to deliver effective data solutions.
  • Monitor data quality and resolve performance bottlenecks and production issues.
  • Support HIPAA compliance, data governance, and data security initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and data mappings.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or a related technical role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.
  • Advanced SQL development skills, including query optimization and performance tuning.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including stored procedures, indexing, and database performance tuning.
  • Experience developing and supporting SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) packages.
  • Experience with PL/SQL development.
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions.
  • Healthcare industry experience working with claims, provider, member, clinical, or operational healthcare data.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Python and PySpark.
  • Knowledge of Delta Lake and Lakehouse architecture.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, and CPT.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD deployment practices.
  • Databricks certification preferred.
