Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong insurance domain knowledge and full-stack data and analytics engineering capabilities. The role involves building reliable data foundations that support AI-driven analytics and automation using Snowflake's AI platform. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SQL, Python, dbt, Snowflake, Snowflake Cortex, and semantic layer development. The position focuses on designing well-structured data models, developing governed data pipelines, and creating semantic models that enable natural language interfaces and AI agents to access trusted business data.
Key Responsibilities:
• Architect flexible and high-performance data models that help Line of Business (LOB) teams establish single sources of truth across their business domains.
• Use SQL, Python, dbt, and Snowflake to build and maintain data infrastructure for reporting, analysis, and automation.
• Perform data quality assurance and develop automated testing procedures for Snowflake data models.
• Contribute to data governance strategies, including permissions, data lineage, and data definitions.
• Design and implement data security controls to ensure models and AI agents access only authorized data.
• Build semantic data models that expose LOB data to natural language queries through Snowflake Cortex Analyst.
• Transform complex data schemas into accessible and meaningful structures that business stakeholders and clients can query using natural language.
• Define and validate metrics, dimensions, and relationships required by AI agents to accurately interpret and reason over LOB data.
• Build and maintain trusted, structured, and AI-ready data foundations to support enterprise AI initiatives.
• Identify deployment patterns and data model gaps and provide actionable feedback to LOB teams to support continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with SQL, Python, dbt, and Snowflake.
• Strong expertise in data modeling, data architecture, and analytics engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex and Cortex Analyst.
• Experience designing and implementing semantic layers for business intelligence and AI-driven applications.
• Strong understanding of data governance, data security, permissions, data lineage, and data definitions.
• Experience developing automated data quality checks and testing procedures for Snowflake data models.
