The Opportunity

As the Data Center Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

• Manage all aspects of medium to large date center development and detailed design projects, including risk & opportunity, budget, schedule, and quality management.
• Be responsible for the day-to-day successful execution of project scope in the areas of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction
• Provide for the successful staffing of the project
• Manage and lead small and medium sized teams of multi-discipline professionals
• Coordinate and integrate the activities associated with the engineering, procurement, construction, and startup elements of the project team, including the activities of all third party companies contributing to the initiative

As a project manager on our Data Center team you will be working with some of the industry's most knowledgeable engineering and development teams who specialize in data center site development and detailed design for tomorrow's data centers including direct to chip liquid cooling and immersion cooling technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Complexity - Manages medium to large engineering projects involving multiple clients or partners, or small EPC projects with minimal risk. Proven experience delivering projects through all phases of the engagement - analyses, design, build, commissioning, and operations.
• Project Execution - Uses Black & Veatch project management phases and methodology including, project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and closeout to direct work, manages changes and risk on scope, cost, schedule, quality, and safety based on available resources and client requirements. Lead project performance reviews for assigned projects.
• Client Management - Responsible for maintaining and nurturing relationships with assigned clients and identifying key client interests and drivers on projects and pursuits and communicate with team members. Obtains new/repeat business on medium to large size projects.
• Business Development - Support and develop project estimates and proposals including scope, cost and schedule according to client requirements and bid process. Support and develop proposal preparation, client presentations and contract negotiations with clients.
• Risk to Black & Veatch - Manages risk which may include time and material, fixed price, new technology, non domestic markets or new clients. Works with engineering team to identify and resolve problems or issues related to design, schedule, change management and quality.

Management Responsibilities

Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in the data center industry
• Prefer four-year bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Contract negotiation skill including knowledge of terms, risks, pricing and payment terms
• Team development, mentors and coaches professionals, delegates project work, practices behaviors supporting diversity and inclusion, and collaboration to achieve results
• Communicates clear expectations, goals, and vision
• Data Center Design Building, GMP, Lump Sum experience desired

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
• Ability to utilize audio/videoconferencing software tools for internal/external communication
• Sitting/standing/computer usage for extended periods of time
• Travel to client sites as required

Compensation Data

In accordance with local requirements, the annual compensation ranges for this role are listed below by state or jurisdiction and reflect the applicable office location(s) within each. Final compensation is determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, internal alignment, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.

State of California: $149,188 - $253,617
State of Colorado: $126,236 - $214,599
