Full Job Description
The Data Architect is responsible for designing and evolving enterprise data architecture while actively contributing to the execution and continuous improvement of the organization's data governance framework.
This role plays a critical function within the enterprise data governance framework and combines hands-on data modelling and design with ownership of key governance deliverables at the domain or project level, while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g., privacy, security) and enterprise architecture strategies.
The position acts as a bridge between business, data governance, and technical teams, enabling trusted, high-quality data across systems.
Major Responsibilities:
• Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models in alignment with enterprise standards.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and governed data structures.
• Contribute to the evolution of canonical data models across domains (e.g., customer, product).
• Ensure alignment with integration, analytics, and AI use cases.
• Own and drive data governance deliverables for assigned domains or initiatives.
• Participate actively in governance forums and contribute to decisions.
• Contribute to the implementation and ongoing use of data catalog solutions.
• Define and validate data flows between systems, ensuring consistency and governance alignment.
• Support adoption of governance processes across projects.
Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field
• 5-8 years of experience in data architecture, data modelling, or related roles
• Proven experience working with data governance or data management frameworks
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with a pragmatic mindset for innovation
• Strong proficiency in Data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical) and SQL and relational data structures
• Experience with Data catalog and governance tools
• Strong understanding of data governance principles (ownership, quality, lifecycle)
• Ability to balance hands-on delivery with structured governance
• Effective stakeholder communication and facilitation
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Fully fluent in English and French
