JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:
As a Sales Associate within the Front Office Data and Analytics Sales team, you will help drive commercial growth by selling J.P. Morgan’s data and research content as well as bespoke analytics solutions to existing and new clients. Key performance dimensions in this role include business results, client/customer focus, teamwork and leadership, and risk and controls.

In addition, you will contribute to growth of J.P. Morgan’s data and analytics solutions (including platform-based offerings such as DataQuery), partnering closely with product, content, and internal coverage teams to originate opportunities, deliver high-quality client engagement, and translate client needs into commercial outcomes.

Unlike many sales roles, the learning curve for this team is demanding, requiring strength across (1) product knowledge, (2) client familiarity across a varied buy-side client base, and (3) sales acumen/execution under pressure.

Job Responsibilities:
The Associate will support end-to-end execution across new business development, account coverage, and product partnership to advance go-to-market priorities and “Voice of Client” feedback loops.

  • Assist with the client acquisition process from prospecting, networking, and pipeline generation through sales execution and ongoing relationship management.
  • Source new sales opportunities via proactive outreach, leveraging relationships in the wider organization, inbound leads, and an existing network.
  • Help deliver high-touch coverage for large institutional clients by arranging and leading regular sessions to manage relationships, pitch new services, bring in subject matter experts, and capture structured client feedback.
  • Work with wider Data & Analytics Sales colleagues to progress and close deals across digital solutions offerings.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders for client accounts, platform products, and data content to align on client priorities and commercial execution.
  • Support and educate Institutional Sales teams on new offerings across the Data & Analytics Sales suite; develop/coordinate messaging, marketing materials, and talking points.
  • Collaborate closely with internal product groups to understand product nuances, run product-specific campaigns, provide synthesized client feedback, and facilitate go-to-market strategies.
  • Help to facilitate client workshops to understand needs and help shape Data & Analytics product roadmap priorities through “Voice of Client” insights.
  • Contribute to competitor and market analysis to inform commercial targeting, client conversations, and positioning.
  • Assist with basic client product issues and ensure effective escalation and coordination with technical teams when necessary.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
The ideal candidate combines strong client-facing potential with the ability to learn complex data and analytics offerings quickly, communicate clearly, and operate with high urgency and discipline.

  • Strong intellectual curiosity; able to learn technical products and translate capabilities into clear client value propositions.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail, including disciplined follow-through on client action items and strong CRM hygiene.
  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to interact at different levels of a client organization and influence client decisions.
  • Foundational financial services industry knowledge, including understanding of challenges facing buy-side clients.
  • Strategic, creative, and problem-solving skills with strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated composure under pressure, operating with appropriate urgency in a client-facing, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Additional experience with buy-side coverage, data licensing constructs, and technical or analytical fluency is beneficial for success in this role.

  • Exposure to selling data and analytics solutions to buy-side institutions (e.g., hedge funds, asset managers, pension funds).
  • Ability to build relationships within the data ecosystem; existing relationships in broker data are a plus.
  • Familiarity with data platforms and data licensing/commercial constructs (or demonstrated ability to learn quickly).
  • Understanding of intellectual property licensing concepts.
  • Experience coordinating internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliver tailored client engagements and workshops.
  • Technical asset class and/or coding language experience; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
