What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is seeking a Data Analyst to support a public diplomacy office at the Department of State. The role focuses on strengthening data-informed operations through stakeholder coordination, data governance, analysis, visualization, and use of technology platforms. The analyst will advise on and implement improvements to the client's data policies, processes, and standards-identifying strengths, gaps, and opportunities to enhance both current and future data architecture. They will use multiple platforms to collect, transform, integrate, and analyze data to identify trends, assess performance, and develop visualizations that support organizational and mission objectives. The analyst will also coordinate with key stakeholders to strengthen data governance practices and build support for data-informed operations across the client environment.

Specific responsibilities may include:
  • Support the development and implementation of the client's data strategy and governance plan, including maintaining related documentation, tools, and templates.
  • Define data requirements and ensure that storage, availability, and coherence of electronic information meet client needs.
  • Collect, clean, validate, and integrate data from multiple sources to support analysis and reporting.
  • Partner with non-technical users to gather requirements, document data quality issues, and recommend improvements.
  • Build intuitive, interactive dashboards and visualizations using large datasets in Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools for users with varying technical backgrounds.
  • Request, document, analyze, and report on data, and develop tools or resources as needed to support ongoing data and reporting needs.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain automation and reporting tools using Power BI, Power Automate, and related Microsoft Power Platform capabilities to streamline workflows and improve data accessibility.


What You Will Need:
  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • FOUR (4) or more years of relevant data governance and analytical experience, preferably supporting government agencies
  • Experience in data analysis methods and using Tableau, PowerBI, or similar data visualization tools to develop dashboards
  • Experience developing or customizing applications using Microsoft Power Apps


What Would Be Nice To Have:
  • State Department experience (or other international agency)
  • Prior consulting experience
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint lists including building custom apps and designing user experience
  • Experience with Python and/or R
  • Experience with Salesforce standard reporting and Salesforce CRM Analytics


The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
