CWMD/Nuclear Analyst
K2 Group is seeking a CWMD/Nuclear Analyst to support Headquarters Air Force. In this role, you will combine strategic vision, policy acumen, and deep analytical expertise to design and execute mission-critical solutions for Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) initiatives. In this role, you will interface directly with key decision-makers to evaluate strategic initiatives, optimize policy alignment, and build robust frameworks for risk management, compliance, and procedural excellence.

Duties:
  • Research, evaluate, and refine policy frameworks and analytical workflows to optimize program performance across complex CWMD operational environments.
  • Shape high-level defense planning, treaty compliance, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure mission success and seamless alignment with national security goals.
  • Produce timely, actionable analysis, point papers, programmatic reports, and briefings to advise senior leadership on critical national priorities.
  • Provide detailed analytical and preparatory support for Air Force participation in NC3-related governance forums, technical discussions, and high-level senior leader engagements.
  • Review, analyze, and draft guidance on national and international treaties/agreements (e.g., Chemical Weapons Convention [CWC], Biological Weapons Convention [BWC], Non-Proliferation Treaty [NPT]) to ensure defense program alignment.
  • Assess and integrate Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC), Joint Staff, and Combatant Command (COCOM) NC3 requirements into DAF policies and guidance.
  • Lead the drafting, editing, and coordination of updates to two critical Air Force NC3 policy documents, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and cross-organizational alignment.
  • Coordinate formal staffing and cross-organizational input across Headquarters Air Force and key stakeholders, managing feedback via enterprise task management systems.
  • Represent and support the Air Force in NC3 technical working groups, steering boards, and governance forums to foster collaboration and advocate for Air Force equities.
Requirements:
  • 3-10 year's experience developing and analyzing procedures, workflows, and documentation for CWMD or defense policy programs
  • Experience developing, analyzing, and authoring procedures, workflows, and policy documentation for CWMD, NC3, or defense programs.
  • Direct experience evaluating national strategic guidance documents (e.g., National Defense Strategy [NDS], Nuclear Posture Review [NPR], National Biodefense Strategy).
  • Ability to assess CWMD implications across OPLANs, campaign plans, and contested environments.
  • Familiarity with NC3 modernization efforts, governance structures, and treaty compliance strategies.
