DESCRIPTIONUnder the general direction of Radiology and Imaging Department leadership, the Lead 3-D Technologist is responsible for coordinating daily operations within the 3-D Laboratory while performing advanced image post-processing for complex CT, MRI, and other imaging examinations. This includes, but is not limited to, CT Angiography studies (coronary and other cardiac CT angiography, abdominal and peripheral CT angiography), pre-operative and pre-procedural planning studies, organ volume measurements, neurovascular and stroke imaging, advanced neuro MRI applications, and other specialized post-processing examinations as needed.The Lead 3-D Technologist serves as a clinical and operational resource for physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals by providing advanced image post-processing support and ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging. Responsibilities include coordinating daily workflow, managing work assignments, maintaining departmental productivity standards, and developing staff schedules to ensure adequate operational coverage of the 3-D Laboratory.
The Lead 3-D Technologist assists with staff education, onboarding, competency assessment, and ongoing professional development to support quality, consistency, and adherence to departmental standards. The incumbent participates in quality improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, protocol development, and performance monitoring to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
Demonstrates and applies knowledge of radiation safety principles and regulatory requirements. Participates in Cardiac CTA and Stroke Code imaging support at the scanner as needed. Contributes to staff training, scheduling, performance evaluation input, special projects, and other duties as assigned in support of departmental goals and strategic initiatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Graduate of a school of radiologic technology.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- California Radiology Technologist - Radiography (CRT-R)
- Registered Technologist for Computed Tomography issued by ARRT (R.T(CT)(ARRT))
- Venipuncture certification.
- Five (5) years in a CT Tech role or equivalent experience with cross sectional imagingknowledge and post-processing experience.
- Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
- Superior knowledge of radiological computerized systems and applications.
- Demonstrates and applies knowledge of principles of radiation safety.
- Thorough understanding of various radiological systems to include PACS and RIS.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- California Radiology Technologist -Fluoroscopy (CRT-F).
- Seven (7) years or more in a dedicated 3-D lab setting or Image post-processing role. Five (5)years as a SR CT Technologist.
- Hospital experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS- Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call and some overtime, if necessary, for unexpected staffing issues.
- Must be able to work various locations based on business needs.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $151,902 - $167,729 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $72.75 - $80.33
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
