Full Job Description
In this role, you'll evaluate the creditworthiness of new customers, assess existing customer exposure, establish appropriate credit limits, and help ensure ORBCOMM effectively balances commercial growth with responsible financial risk management.

As Credit Manager, you'll play an important role in protecting ORBCOMM's financial position while supporting the needs of the business. You'll conduct comprehensive credit analysis, establish and monitor customer credit limits, manage credit approvals and order releases, and proactively identify changes in customer financial risk.

You'll work closely with internal teams and external partners while leveraging credit reporting agencies, financial data, and technology to make informed credit decisions and continuously improve our credit processes.

This role is based in Rochelle Park, New Jersey and operates within ORBCOMM's hybrid work environment.

What You'll Do

Credit Analysis & Risk Management
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers through financial and credit analysis.
  • Establish and approve appropriate credit limits in accordance with company policies and approval authority.
  • Continuously monitor existing customer exposure and financial risk to determine whether current credit limits remain appropriate.
  • Analyze financial information, payment history, credit reports, and other relevant risk indicators to support sound credit decisions.
  • Utilize Credit safe, Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), and Experian credit reports to support customer credit assessments.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, rating agencies, banks, and legal advisors to support due diligence and compliance requirements.


  • Proactively identify changes in customer creditworthiness and recommend appropriate adjustments to credit limits or terms.

Credit Operations & Controls
  • Adhere to and enforce ORBCOMM's credit policies and procedures.
  • Manage order release activities and credit approvals.
  • Maintain and update customer credit files while ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Monitor customer accounts and credit exposure to identify emerging financial risks.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation supporting credit decisions, limits, approvals, and exceptions.
  • Ensure credit activities are completed accurately, consistently, and in accordance with established controls.

Systems, Automation & Process Improvement
  • Utilize Salesforce and JDE to support credit operations, customer information, and workflow management.
  • Implement and enhance automation within the credit application and approval process.
  • Identify opportunities to improve credit workflows, controls, reporting, and data accuracy.
  • Support process improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and consistency across the credit function.
  • Partner with internal teams to strengthen credit processes and leverage technology to improve decision-making.


Who You Are

You're an experienced credit professional with strong financial judgment and the ability to balance risk management with business needs.

If you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in corporate credit analysis and credit risk management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management abilities.
