Full Job Description
Overview

MONO is seeking a Creative Technologist with 3+ years of experience to join our innovation team. In this role, you'll sit at the intersection of imagination and execution—you aren't just a developer who writes code, and you aren't just a creative who generates ideas, you're the bridge that connects them.

With a solid foundation in development and a passion for storytelling, you'll prototype experiential activations, experiment with generative AI tools, and help our creative teams push the boundaries of what's possible by turning "What if we tried...?" into a working reality that wins pitches and creates memorable brand experiences. This is a hybrid creative role that requires equal time spent concepting solutions and building them.

Responsibilities
  • Rapid Prototyping & Pitch Support: Build functional mockups, proof-of-concepts, and interactive demos to validate creative ideas before client presentation or final production
  • Creative Collaboration & Thought Leadership: Partner with Art Directors, Designers, Copywriters, Strategists and Account Teams to translate abstract campaign visions into tangible digital, interactive, or physical experiences, and serve as the agency's internal champion for emerging tech—regularly sharing new tools, platform capabilities, and cultural trends
  • Technical Feasibility & Integration: Assess early-stage creative concepts for technical feasibility, scope, and platform requirements, and connect creative frontends with third-party APIs, data streams, and generative AI models to build dynamic, reactive experiences
  • Production Oversight & Quality Assurance: Package successful prototypes, document technical logic, and write clear specifications to hand projects off to production teams or vendors, then oversee external builds to ensure the final execution honors the original creative intent and quality standards
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in creative technology, workflow automation, or AI/ML tools, preferably in an agency setting
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field
  • Strong understanding of LLMs, generative AI models, and their practical applications within creative workflows
  • Proficiency with various IDEs, Git repositories, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Broad technology knowledge, ranging from cloud-based hosting and internal communication tools to the evolving AI landscape and the Stagwell tool ecosystem
  • Bonus: Experience with Adobe Developer APIs, Firefly Services APIs, or Adobe Experience Platform is a plus
  • Strong communication skills: Possess excellent writing, editing, and articulate, confident presentation skills
  • Cross-disciplinary comfort: Proven ability to work seamlessly across creative, production, strategy, and engineering teams
  • High emotional intelligence: Handles stressful situations with maturity and projects confidence during team and client interactions
  • Curiosity & Industry Engagement: Active in digital ecosystems, emerging technologies, and creative communities, with a drive to find innovative ways to apply them to our brands
  • Tech Evangelism: Excited by emerging technology platforms, experiences, and possibilities, with a strong desire to share them with the agency
  • Strong Documentation Habits: Detail-oriented approach to building and organizing— you always leave things better than you found them
  • Resilient Attitude: Bringing a resourceful, positive, do-what-it-takes mindset with an uncompromised attention to detail and accuracy
  • Embodies and embraces MONO's values

This is a locally-based role, where relocation will be required for candidates living outside of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. We currently observe a hybrid work model. We work onsite every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for Work From MONO (WFM) days, in addition to moments that matter outside of those designated days, with the purpose of fostering agency connection and aiding collaboration. Some travel may be required.

Benefits

Our company offers flexible paid time off, medical, dental, vision and well-being benefits, HSA, FSAs, pre-tax commuter benefits, 401k with match, and upgraded parental leave policies. We also close the office over the week of the 4th of July for a perk we call Mid Summer’s Dream. Mid Summer’s Dream is an opportunity for everyone here at MONO to re-charge, spend time with family, or just plain dream (and, in MN, July is the perfect time to be OOO). We are a values-driven company, supporting people personally and professionally.
