Full Job Description
About The Role

We're looking for an experienced Creative Lead to help evolve and elevate ScalePad's brand in the MSP space. You'll lead our in-house Creative team and be responsible for driving visual excellence across every touchpoint-from web, to advertising, to swag, and everything in between. We're looking for someone with an AI-forward mindset: curious about emerging tools, thoughtful about where they add value, and grounded in strong creative judgment and craft. This role is for someone who has experience building amazing brands in the B2B space and knows what's expected, but isn't afraid to challenge convention to make our creative a differentiator. You should love coaching creatives and know how to speak their language, but you should be just as comfortable rolling up your sleeves as a player-coach to get design work done too.

This role is a part of our Brand & Communications team, which combines Content, Creative, and Communications into a single powerhouse unit. You'll have a front row seat to all of the amazing work being done, and will have the opportunity to shape and elevate it with design. This is a truly exciting role for the right person. We invite all qualified candidates to apply below, and please make sure to include a link to your portfolio.

What You'll Own

Get ready to go beyond order-taking. Your strategic responsibilities include:
  • Manage and evolve our visual identity across ScalePad's master brand and digital channels, maintaining clear visual systems and guidelines that create a cohesive, distinctive, and scalable brand experience.
  • Oversee and support the execution of all creative assets, including websites, digital ads, sales collateral, ebooks, conference booths, and more. You should be comfortable rolling up your sleeves as a player-coach and contributing from a design perspective.
  • Lead and manage our multidisciplinary Creative team of designers, developers, and motion graphic artists-guiding their growth, coaching regularly, and fostering a high-performing (and fun) team culture.
  • Triage and manage intake of creative requests from across the company, aligning priorities, seeking clarity when needed, and resourcing projects efficiently. The Creative team supports the needs of the entire organization, so effective resource management is essential.
  • Review and approve creative work, ensuring it meets brand standards, project requirements, and quality benchmarks-including appropriate standards for accuracy, originality, and brand consistency when AI-tools are used.
  • Establish and manage relationships with freelancers, contractors, and external vendors-ensuring creative resources are available as needed and that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with our Product Design team to align our marketing and product visuals into a unified customer experience. This is an important relationship at ScalePad, and it needs nurturing to be successful.
  • Lead the adoption of AI across the Creative department to improve speed, quality, and scalability. Identify high-value use cases, establish practical guard rails, and coach the team on effective use.

What we're looking for

We care about what you can do more than where you've done it. However, experience in the following areas will help you hit the ground running in this role:
  • 6+ years of experience in visual design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team management role. B2B SaaS experience is essential.
  • Deep understanding of brand systems, creative workflows, project briefs, intake, and end-to-end project management processes.
  • A people-first leader who's known for building strong teams and nurturing talent. Experience managing creatives across multiple disciplines (graphic design, dev, motion, etc.)
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your experience across digital, web, and brand design.
  • A strong point of view on modern design trends, typography, layout, and UX principles.
  • The ability to balance craft with strategy-you're as comfortable making as you are directing.
  • You possess and exemplify exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills - modelling what this looks like to your team every day.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other design software, with hands-on experience using AI-enabled creative tools to support ideation, production, and workflow efficiency.

Perks

ScalePad offers our employees a blend of purpose, growth, and genuinely great perks.
  • Everyone's an owner. Share in our success through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and RRSP matching.
  • Support for growing families. Parental leave programs are in place to support you and your family when it matters most.
  • Structured mentorship with builders. Join opt-in mentorship programs and learn directly from founders and senior leaders who've scaled multiple SaaS ventures and spent decades in the MSP industry.
  • Invest in your growth every year. Access an annual professional development budget to level up your skills, your career, and your impact.
  • Set yourself up with great tools. Work with brand new, top-of-the-line hardware and equipment so you can do your best work, whether you're at home or in one of our hubs.
  • Modern ways of working. Roles at ScalePad are structured as remote or hybrid, with hub locations in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, and Phoenix. Specific work models are outlined in each posting.
  • Support for hybrid life. Receive a monthly stipend to help you create an effective hybrid or remote work environment.
  • Well-being and time to recharge. Take care of yourself with 100% employer-paid benefits.
