Position Overview

Kiewit Equipment Services is seeking Crane Managers to lead crane operations, maintenance readiness, lift planning support, compliance, and utilization across active projects. This role helps ensure cranes are properly selected, mobilized, inspected, maintained, and operated in alignment with company procedures, project needs, safety expectations, and schedule requirements. The Crane Manager will partner closely with project leadership, equipment teams, crane services, safety, operations, craft supervision, vendors, and subcontractors to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective crane support.

Responsibilities
• Lead crane operations support for assigned projects, including crane selection, mobilization, utilization, demobilization, maintenance readiness, and operational planning.
• Partner with project teams to support lift planning, site-specific crane management plans, crane coordination meetings, crane move planning, overlap/collision avoidance planning, critical lift review processes, and training.
• Verify crane inspections, documentation, certifications, operator authorization, rigger and signal person qualifications, and required records are current and properly maintained.
• Provide field leadership for safe crane setup, maintenance, repair coordination, daily readiness, equipment reliability, and compliance with company crane and rigging procedures.
• Coordinate with equipment, safety, operations, engineering, vendors, subcontractors, and Crane Services to resolve crane-related risks, technical issues, downtime concerns, and resource needs.
• Use company systems to track equipment status, maintenance history, utilization, inspections, work orders, costs, and readiness for project execution.

Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in crane operations, heavy construction equipment management, lift planning, equipment maintenance, or a related field; heavy crane experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of crane safety, lift planning, crane setup, inspections, rigging, signaling, operator qualifications, maintenance requirements, and field execution risks.
• Ability to lead, coach, and communicate effectively with project management, equipment teams, safety personnel, field supervision, craft, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Experience using equipment management systems, maintenance tracking tools, inspection records, scheduling tools, and related technology.
• Strong organizational, planning, follow-up, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to be hands-on in both office and field environments.
• Willingness and ability to travel within the U.S. and internationally as required.
