THE POSITION
Do you want to lead important maintenance and construction projects as a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 3 with the Department of Corrections? In this role, you will work closely with engineers, contractors, and facility staff to keep buildings secure and functional. Your decisions will help improve safety, efficiency, and long-term planning. Step into a position where your skills support essential facility operations.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports facility construction, maintenance, and renovation projects while guiding staff and ensuring compliance with technical standards. As a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 3, you will perform the following duties:

• Project Coordination: Plan, monitor, and support construction activities by reviewing designs, attending meetings, and overseeing contractor work
• Technical Oversight: Inspect facilities, evaluate equipment reliability, and confirm adherence to construction documents and standards
• Staff Guidance: Advise maintenance personnel, supervise inmate work crews, and provide oversight of repairs and improvements
• Policy Development: Create and implement maintenance policies to support safety, compliance, and efficient facility operations
• Field Inspection: Travel to facilities, perform progress inspections, and verify project completeness and adherence to department expectations
• Operational Support: Analyze mechanical issues, explore energy-saving solutions, and assist in planning for future maintenance needs

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Work Location: This position is based at 1920 Technology Parkway in Mechanicsburg, PA, with the option to consider an alternate State Correctional Institution location if requested and available.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55 when the employee is designated to work inside a State Correctional Institution. This eligibility does not apply if the employee reports to the Department of Corrections Central Office.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as a Facility Maintenance Manager 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years as a Facility Maintenance Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Three years of experience as a Utilities Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Seven years of experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including four years in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
