Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Managing Director, Investment Grade Sector Head within the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) industry for the U.S. & Canada Corporates, Infrastructure and Project Finance team based in our New York office.

Fitch's U.S. & Canada Corporates, Infrastructure and Project Finance (CIPF) rating team is seeking a Managing Director to act at as IG Sector Head within our Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) industry family in our New York, Chicago, or Toronto office. The role reports to the TMT Industry Family Head, and entails managing a team of ~20 analysts covering 200+ debt issuers while overseeing ratings processes, analytical research, outreach, and representing Fitch externally at a senior level.

How You'll Make an Impact:
  • Have direct managerial responsibility for a team of ~20 analysts covering more than 200 public and private debt issuers, primarily investment-grade rated.
  • Articulate Fitch's credit views and sector outlook in meetings, conference calls, and industry roundtables, as well as in written research, in an engaging and dynamic manner.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment in the TMT team and contribute to the overall ethos of the U.S. and Canada CIPF rating team in a manner that prioritizes and advances Fitch's strategic goals.
  • Be a highly visible presence for the external stakeholders in the ratings process, including industry management teams, private equity sponsors, buy-side and sell-side analysts, and the media.

  • Has broad and deep knowledge across IG focused-TMT sectors (media and entertainment, technology hardware and telecommunications) and the macroeconomic, regulatory, and credit trends that influence corporate debt issuers in these industries.
  • Knowledge of project and infrastructure finance in areas relevant to TMT, including sports finance and digital finance, is a plus.
  • Has experience leading effective, high-performing teams at scale, with demonstrated success managing multiple sector teams/geographies and building robust succession pipelines.
  • Has demonstrated an ability to develop talent and foster potential of junior analysts.
  • Has prior experience at a credit rating agency or in a closely related credit role (e.g., corporate credit analysis, capital markets).
  • Understands the functioning of the debt capital markets.
  • Has a network of relationships within the debt capital markets and TMT sector.

FOR NEW YORK AND CHICAGO ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $270,000 and $310,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch's total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
